Paper Mario - The Thousand-Year Door

Ahem! Today... I'm going to tell you the story of the Thousand-Year Door. An awfully long time ago... In a strange and far-off land, a big, bustling town thrived. It was a town where all people lived very happy lives. And it was said that the town was very prosperous. But one day, tragedy befell this blessed place. A great cataclysm struck the town and its people. Darkness filled teh skies, and the earth roared and shook. It was as if the very world had come to a violent end. And in but a single night... The town sank into the depths of the earth... Many moons rose and set... Stories of the town passed into the pages of fairy tales... And when the town's site no longer held relics of its past... People gathered at that spot and built a new town. But word soon spread among the people who moved in... That an ancient city lay deep underground. And that a magnificent treasure rested there. Indeed... This is the tale of the fabled treasure of Rogueport. Yes, this is where it begins, in the sea town of Rogueport. The tale of the quest for the lengedary treasure... And the Thousand-Year Door... starts here...

Prologue - A Rogue's Welcome

We hear Mario snoring and the Captain of the Boat says, "Excuse me... Sir? Please wake up, sir! The town you'd been speaking of has come into view. Look! That's Rogueport!" Mario wakes up and sees the town ahead of him. The Captain says, "You see? We'll arrive shortly. Please prepare to disembark." The boat comes into view and the Captain says, "I must apologize, sir. Our arrival was delayed just a bit by rough weather... Are you quite sure you want to disembark here? I... did tell you all the sordid tales about Rogueport on our way here, did I not? What's that? I'm sorry? You say there's a princess waiting here for you? Is that so? Er... Of course, sir. Well, if that's what you think, then I won't stop you. But, uh... You be careful, sir. Don't say I didn't warn you!" The boat flips around and leaves you there. Now you are in control of Mario... Move around and talk with the people there. You can skip the dialouge and continue onward or talk to the people... However, once you see that Save Block, hit it and save your first game. You will be needing to save many times within this adventure. And don't worry, I will be able to remind you, every step of the way.

If you hit the Save Block, it will say, "Hit this block to save all the events you've experienced so far. Even if your game ends, you can continue it from the last point you saved at. Anytime you find a block like this on your adventure, be sure to save! Save all game progress up to this point? Yes or No" Hit Yes, always. After you hit yes, it will say, "Saving... Do not touch the Memory Card in Slot A or the POWER Button. Your progress was saved.

If you talk to the first Bob-omb, he'll say, "Oy! Welcome to Rogueport! Bit of a nasty place, eh? You got guts, comin' here. You look a bit green, so 'ave a wee bit of advice, on me: hit that Save Block to save. 'Cause the thing about life is, ya never know when you're gonna kick the ol' bucket."

If you talk to the Light Orange Toad, he'll say, "What you want, pal? Huh? A princess in a pink dress? I ain't seen nothing like that, no. I'd remember a princess, probably. Why do you want this chick, anyway, pal? Owe you money? Or is she yer girlfriend?

If you talk to the bigger Bob-omb with the eye-patch, he'll say, "Huff! Hoof! Harf! Horf! Haff! Outta my way, ya scallywag! Move yer ever-lovin' bones!" That's it.

If you talk to the other Bom-omb, he'll say, "Blimey! A fight?!? Corkin'! Heh heh! Ain't nothin' so fun as watchin' some poor bloke 'ave it out wif his missus, eh? Am I right, mate?"

If you talk to the smaller Toad that looks light Green, he'll say, "Yikes. Looks like trouble over there... Probably best not to get involved, huh? I wouldn't meddle with other people's problems in this town, even if I had an extra life."

If you chose to ignore them and help the Pink Goomba, the Pink Goomba hides behind Mario (You) and says, "Like I'd go anywhere with smelly lunatics like you! Hmph! Not likely!" Lord Crump says, "Whuh? What do you think YOU'RE doing, chump? You think you can screw up my plans?!?" Mario jumps and is surprised about what he said. Lord Crump says, "Gah! It's always something... Looks like I'm going to have to give you a little taste of the old CRUMP-A-BOMB!" They rush you and your first battle begins now.

Once the battle scene appears, the Pink Goomba says, "Battle time, Mister Man! Just find a way to beat this freak of the week, OK? Don't sweat the details. Just jump on him and hit him with your hammer!" Now that you're in control, you can select either Jump or Hammer. There's no perfect strategy for defeating Lord Crump. If you jump on him, make sure to Press (A) just before stomping on an enemy. After the attack, the Pink Goomba says, "Sweet! You KNOW that hurt! Wow, I gotta say, you're tougher than you look. Keep it up and you'll beat him in no time! Lord Crump will attack you and he'll probably take off a HP, unless you remember from the previous Paper Mario game and you can press (A) just before he attacks and it blocks a HP from the attack. Soo, if he attacks you and you press (A) just before he jumps on you, you will not be hurt and the word, "NICE" will pop up above you. Now, attack with your hammer. Remember to hold the Control stick to the Left and release it when the big red star lights up. Let go too early and it will not be as powerful. After you attack him, the Pink Goomba says, "You've got him on the ropes! C'mon! Keep whaling on him!" After he attacks again, you can block it and attack him once more. After defeating him, you will see green star orbs at the bottom of your screen. The Pink Goomba says, "You did it! You did it! YESSS! And you got Star Points!!! Yeah, I bet you know, but you get these things called Star Points when you win battles. When you get 100 points, you'll go up a level. Don't forget that, OK?" You obtain 9 Star Points and the battle is now over.

Back on the outside, Lord Crump says, "Buh! Buh! Buh huh huh! OK, you got a couple decent shots in, I'll give you that. But... Unfortunately for you, that means... IT'S GO TIME!" Once he says that, a small army of X-Nauts appear around them and Lord Crump yells, "PUNISH HIM!" Suddenly, they try to dog-pile on you at every angle. At the bottom of the screen, you see the Pink Goomba escaping and she says, "Quick! This way!" After she says that, you come walking out of the scrap and she says, "Phew! What a bunch of loons! Let's just sneak out of here, what do you say?" Mario agrees and you're finally back in control. Head up the stairs and past the entry-way. Once you two are out of sight, Lord Crump realizes that you're no longer there and says, "Buh-HUUUUUH?!? STOPPP!!!" After he yells that, they realize that you're no longer there. Lord Crump looks around and says, "Where'd they go?!? Huh? You! Johnson! Did you see them? Did anyone?" Suddenly, many Question Marks popped up above most of them and Lord Crump says, "Uh... Crud! They bolted!" From there, the screen goes black.

Once it comes back, you're standing with the Pink Goomba and she thnanks you for rescuing her. You two talk about what your reason is for being there and you find out that you both are looking for the same thing. After a bit, Toadsworth comes walking into the picture and starts chatting with you... If you're bored with the conversation, keep an eye on the background... You'll see two Piantas in suits and they attack two guard creatures. After Toadsworth is done talking, he leaves for the Inn and it's back to you two talking. Once you both settle for what the game plan is, you find out who you are looking for and you also learn about your partner, and her name is Goombella. After examining the picture, you're finally back in control of Mario and you're free to move about the place. Upon this point, the first thing you want to do is save your game (soo that you don't have to sit through all that talking again). If you head to the left, you will see a Toad that is standing outside his own. He tells you to not move, because he dropped his Eye contacts. No matter where you move, you will end up stepping on them. Now you have to buy him a new lens, or else he will block the way for you to access the West side of the town... However, you don't need to access it for the time being, but I strongly suggest going inside the Market place (the store with the Fire Flower above the door) and order the lens before you do anything else. After placing that special order, you can now leave the store (unless you buy anything) and head towards the east side of town. If you feel like exploring before you head there, go to the Inn first. Once inside, head up the stairs and go out the door on the left. Keep going to the roof of house and slowly go down the other-side of it to find a Star Piece, nearest to the wall. After finding that first Star Piece, go to the door of the house to passed. It will say, "Open at 11 AM Today"... Remember this place, because this place sells and buys badges. You can sell badges you deem worthless or buy the badges that you can find there. If you go off the ledge and follow the tunnel to the back of the town, you will find two ways to go. If you go left, there's a back door that leads to a shack or some type of hide-out. If you go to the right, you will find a lone Goomba. Go back through that tunnel and now go east to the east side of town.

Once you enter the east side, suddenly a blue bandit runs past you. After Goombella yells for him, she notices that the blue bandit stole half your coins, soo now you're down to either 50 coins or how ever much you spent. From this point, you have two choices. You can continue your way or go looking for him. I suggest to find him and I'm going to help you there. Go back to the main part of the town and go back through that tunnel that leads to the back of the town. Remember that shack or hide-out?? Well, you will find him there and you must keep talking to him until he gives you back your coins. After obtaining your coins again, go back to the east side of town and continue your search for the professor. If you look closely at the wall near the entrance, you will notice a very small difference in them. If you walk up to that wall and go either left or right, you will find yourself behind the houses and among other people. Keep going back there and you will find a new creature that calls himself 'Darkly'. Remember where he's at, because you will need his help later on... If you continue down to the boxes in the very back, jump on one of them and collect another Star Piece. After exiting that place, you will see two houses, next to each other. One as a Shine Sprite above the door and the other has nothing above its red door. Oh, word of advice... Don't talk to the guard that's standing outside of another entrance. He will ask you to either pay 10 coins to access that part or fight him for it. Don't pay the coins, but don't fight him until you are at a higher level. Once you are, you can come back and fight him. Once you defeat him, the area will be accessible forever after. As for the house with the Shine Sprite on it, that is the house of Merlon, the super-magician. He can upgrade your partners for three Shine Sprites. Once you collect three Shine Sprites, come back to him and upgrade any partner that you may want or have. Now, go to the house with the red door. Once you walk inside, you will find Professor Frankly. After talking to him and showing him the map, you are to go down to the underground. After gaining access to the green pipe, you can now enter the underground. Just before you can enter, Professor Frankly must insist on teaching you the Action Commands. If you have played Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, you are well-aware of the Action Commands and do not need to re-learn them. If you want to refresh your memory, go ahead and follow through with him. However, if you choose no, he will keep insisting on it. After telling him a couple of times that you don't need it, he will agree with you and you can go underground.

Once you enter the underground, hit the save block. After saving, you will see an arch-way. You can go through, but you will be stopped by a huge broken pillar. However, in the house near the broken pillar, lives the Fortune-Teller, Merluvlee. If you stand on the otherside of the table, she will give you three different types of readings: My Next Path for 18 coins, Star Pieces for 5 coins, and Shine Sprites for 10 coins. After you exit her house, you will see another strange creature, named Dazzle, next to it. If you talk with him, he will trade you the badges he has for Star Pieces you collect. Come see him when you collect a lot of Star Pieces. Soo, since we can't blow up that broken pillar for now, you would have to go back. You will see stairs that lead down, next to a pipe that is guarded by a gate. As you go down the stairs, you are stopped by three Goomba enemies. Thanks to Goombella's words, you are now stuck in a battle. You are quickly told that you can attack the first Goomba by either Hammer or Jump, the second Goomba (called Spiky Goomba) by Hammer only, and the third Goomba (called Para-Goomba) by Jump only. If you wish to know their health, use Goombella's Tattle attack and you'll add their picture and stats in your Tattle Book, that's saved in your start menu. After you defeat them, you will 10 Star Points, which should give you 19 now. Remember, once you get 100, you level up and you can upgrade either your Health Points, Flower Points, or Badge Points. You MUST choose wisely. Anyways, after they run away, go up the steps and around the broken part of the wall. Once you are there, jump onto the moving platform, get to the green pipe and use it. Once you enter, you will see a long fence. Keep going further and you will find a Para-Goomba flying about. If you want to attack him, jump or hammer him before he hits you. After you defeat him, keep going and you will run into a regular Goomba. Defeat him and keep on going down the steps. Once you get down the steps, you will see two yellow blocks with question marks on them. Hammer them to get the items that come out from them. One is a Mushroom and the other is a Fire Flower. Now, with that hammer, you can hammer the two bigger blocks with eyes on them. It will reveal a green pipe. If you keep going left, you will run into a big blue switch and an even bigger yellow box with mad eyes on it. You cannot destroy that box or jump on that switch, soo it's best to head back and take the pipe down. However, don't forget this place. Because, later on in the game, you will obtain a better hammer and you will be able to access this place. After taking the green pipe, you will find another bigger yellow mean box and a very small creature that runs into the crack in the wall. He's for later in this adventure, and he's known as a Puni. Anyways, as you keep going, you will see new enemies that spin. Jump on them to attack them first. Attack this foe with anything you want and you'll defeat him easily. His attack is being able to make you dizzy and not able to attack. Afte defeating the two foes, keep going right. You will see a black key that is not reachable by jumping. However, you see a blue switch. Jump on the switch to reveal a hidden staircase. If you notice the darker part of the wall, it's because it's hiding a secret room. However, you cannot access it until you have the proper partner. We will come back to that, once we obtain that partner. Moving on!!... Go up the stairs and jump down to where the black key is. Trust me, grab that first before going into that room. After getting the key, go back up the stairs and enter that room to the right. Here, you will see a black chest. Once you try to open it, it will speak and ask you to get the black key. Since you got it before hand, you will open the chest and a 'monster' pops out. He claims to curse you by giving you the ability to turn into a Paper Airplane. After going through the ridiculous tutorial, he disappears and now you must exit the room. Now, step onto that platform that has the Airplane logo on it. Transform into a Paper Airplane and glide your way across the room and enter the doorway. Now, you are standing in the big room that houses the Thousand-Year Door. Go to the center of the circles and stand on the pedestal. Once you do, bright bluish glows will appear. Your map will be taken out of your pocket and it will reveal where the first Crystal Star is. You also learn a new special move called 'Sweet Treat'. After reviewing the map, you are taken back to Professor Frankly's house to fully examine the map. After being told of your new special move, Professor Frankly will ask if you wish to try it out... However, again, if you're a Paper Mario player, you already understand how it all works. There's no need to waste time, learning something you already know. Once you're back in control, exit his house. Just after you leave his house, he comes back out and gives you a badge called 'Power Smash'. He will ask you if you want to learn how to use badges, but we all know how to really use them, right?? Before you go to the green pipe, go back to the main place of the town. Remember where that house was that wasn't open until 11 AM?? If not, go through the Inn, up the stairs, out the door on the left and go into the house on top of the Store. Since it is now open, you will see badges for sale. If you have 35 Coins, spend them on getting the Power Jump Badge. It will definitely aid you in battles. Now that is taken care of, head back to the green pipe and take it down to the underground. Once underground, go down and up the stairs until you find the Airplane panel. You can fight the Spiky Goomba, if you want. Once you glide your way over the trench, go through the arch-way. Now, you will see, what appears to be, a Blooper's tentacle. Jump or Hammer it and you will enter a battle with the Blooper. After you defeat it, two moving platforms will appear. Jump across them and go down the gray pipe, leading yourself to Petal Meadows and to the first Crystal Star.

Chapter One - Castle and Dragon

Once you appear from the pipe, you find yourself in a nice part of the adventure. After talking with Goombella, it's now time to press onward. However, first thing first... You see the two trees behind you?? Whack them both with your Hammer and you shall receive two treats. One is a Mushroom and the other is a Star Piece. After getting the Star Piece, go to the Save Block and save the game. Proceed down the steps and just ahead until you are stopped by a huge roaring sound. As you see a red dragon flying to a castle, Goombella is telling you that there's something completely different about the place. As you proceed, you will see a Moon-Shaped rock and a Sun-Shaped rock that both seem to be missing something... Keep this place in mind, because we will need to be returning here... Anyways, proceed past the rocks. Hit the Question Mark box to get a Mushroom Item. As you enter the next place, you will see Goombas running about. You can attack them, if you wish. It's a great way to level up and upgrade Mario. As you proceed, you will see a red Question Mark box. Hit it and a badge will pop out. The badge is called "Close Call". Continue your way and you will find a green pipe. If you wish, take it and it will pop you out on a much taller pipe. You see a badge in front of you, but you cannot get it by any means, for now. You must come back here with a new partner (that is in this chapter) and you will be able to retrieve the badge. The box that is below it contains coins, soo if you choose to, go ahead and grab them. After defeating the enemies or dodging them and entering the next place, you will be blocked by a big river. If you listen to Goombella, you can press (A) on the grass and you just may find something. Sure, you'll find a couple of coins, but once you press (A) on two of the bushes, it reveals a greep pipe, that leads to the background of the place. Take the pipe and go jump on that switch that's in the background. If you want, keep going to the right (while in the background) and you will find a Star Piece. Go back to the pipe and come back to the front. Walk along the bridge and hit the Question Mark box for a Fire Flower Item. If you want, shake the bushes and you may just find another item too. Continue onward into the town of Petalburg.

Once you enter Petalburg, a green Koopa walks up to you and talks with you. Once you're done talking, feel free to explore the shops and make sure you save your game, by hitting the Save Block. As you talk to all the people, you see a Gray/Platinum Bob-omb, named General White. He doesn't talk much, however, he is big use to this adventure, soo don't forget where he is located. We will need him, later on in the storyline. As for now, we continue right to see more Koopas. As you enter the next place, you find the pink house that the Koopa has told you to look for, for it contains the Mayor of Petalburg. Just next to his house, you see a slit in his fence and a badge just next to his house. However, you cannot jump over it or go through it, for now. Once you learn the special ability to turn sideways, then you can come back here and grab it. For the time being, let's have a chat with the Mayor about Hooktail and the Crystal Star. By now, you learn that you must obtain stone keys from a place called Shhwonk Fortress. After you're done talking to him, exit his house and keep going right until you reach the gate with the Koopa standing guard. However, just before you reach the gate, you are stopped by an incoming e-mail. You should always check your e-mails as soon as you get them, because some of them will be important. After speaking to the Koopa to let you out, you're delayed by another Koopa, who's wearing a jacket, named Koops. He stumbles on his words and just leaves you be. After that, head out towards the Fortress. Fight the enemies if you wish. Remember to always hit the trees with your Hammer and check all the bushes. You just might find some things in there, like for instance, a Star Piece at the beginning... On the way, you'll be facing a new enemy, called a Koopa Troopa. A good way of defeating them is to jump on their heads to flip them over. Inside the Question Mark box is a POW Block, to use in battle. After thoroughly checking everywhere and defeating any enemies, you find yourself inside a place. On top of the pedestals, are two enemies. You must walk up to the pedestal and activate them. Now, you must fight them to open up the door. The best way to get rid of these guys, is to use that POW Block you got from the outside. Once you defeat them, the gate, blocking the doorway, is now gone. Now, you're back outside and must find you way to the next place. Along your way, you find another POW Block, just inside a bush that's near the next place. This time, when you activate the pedestal, you're facing against two creatures that cannot be hurt by jumping on or being hammered. Soo, you're not given a choice, but to use the POW Block you found. It will destroy them easily. After you defeat them, your doorway is open and you're back outside again. Fight the enemies, if you choose and make your way towards the third and final place. You'll see a Question Mark and an item on your way. If you pick up the item on the ground, it's an Inn Coupon, which allows you to stay at one of the Inns for free and inside the Question Mark is a Fire Flower. Just before you enter the final place, you see a heart, moving inside a box. It also shows a sign of 5 Coins on top of the box. If you hit the box, it will cost you five coins to completely refill your HP and FP for you and your partner. Soo, always keep coins on you, whenever you see that. It comes in great aid for you, trust me. Now, it's time to head on inside the final place. Once inside, make sure to save your game. Activate the Thwomp statue and it comes alive. Once he's alive, he'll compete against you in a question and answer game. Make sure to answer all the questions right. Once you do, he will move back and you can jump down the hole he reveals. If you get three wrong, he will send out four enemies to destroy you. If you can defeat them, then he will reveal the entrance. Whether you got them right and passed or got them wrong and fought, save your game before you enter the green pipe. After taking that pipe, you see two ways to go: Left or Right. Before you enter any of them, make sure to hit the red Question Mark box that contains a badge called "Multibounce." Each way contains one of the stone keys, soo you must go both ways. However, be cautious. There are new enemies in this place that can definitely prove to be a bit challenging. Once you collect one of the keys, an enemy will attack and you cannot flee the fight. It will be the same when you grab the second stone key. After collecting them, you're attacked by another enemy that's Gold-colored. Once the battle ensues, you will find yourself over-ran by a lot more Fuzzies and you must attack them as well. After defeating them all, you are able to leave the place and go back into town. Don't forget to save. After going through the town, you must make your way back to the very beginning of the chapter. You remember the stones that had the shapes cut into the rocks?? Well, that's where we need to go to place these Stone Keys into. However, you're stopped again by Koops. Koops tells you about how his father went to the castle to defeat the dragon, and now he wants to join your party. Now that you have Koops in your party, you're stopped by a girl Koopa, named Koopie Koo. After a small talk, you can now go back to that taller pipe and grab that Badge we saw earlier in the game. Make sure to grab that before we go to Hooktail's Castle. Once you're back in the beginning, place the Stone Keys in their proper place and read the inscription that's on the tall pipe. You must press the buttons at the same time. Since you now have Koops, use is abilities and hold him out until you are at the second switch. At the same time, let go of the X button to let Koops hit the switch and you hit the switch at the same time. It will reveal the hidden pipe and you can take it to the background, which leads to the entrance of Hooktail's Castle.

Now at the entrance of his castle, make sure you save and walk through the doorway. Once you see the entrance and chat with your partner, you will soon figure out that you cannot jump the gap. However, if you go off to the side and go down, you will find yourself on a small pathway, that's underneath the broken bridge. Make sure to make all the jumps, until you see a badge that's out of your reach. Use Koops to grab the badge and get back to the doorway. Since you cannot jump it, go back through the doorway and jump onto that spring and go through the doorway. Once back outside, you will see an Airplane Panel. Turn into an Airplane and glide your way across. Go through the door and we start on Hooktail's Castle. Inside, you will find more enemies, if you wish to battle. Battling against the enemies is always a very good thing. You want to make sure Mario is at the higher levels. You will find a red Question Mark that contains another badge called "Power Bounce." Go through the door and keep going until Koops sees a dead Koopa corpse and flips out. As you walk up to it, Koops is starting to freak out a bit. You find out that this body is holding a note that Koops takes and reads. You find out that Hooktail doesn't like creatures that start with 'cr' and end with 'icket'. You also learn that Hooktail will try and trick you during battle, if he is low on health or near defeat. After reading the note, you learn that the letter-carrier is the father of famous Archaeologist, Kolorado, from the first Paper Mario. Upon reaching the end of the room, you see a pink Dry Bones blocking the way. You activate it and you are suddenly attacked by many Dry Bones. You can to hammer your way back to the Pink Dry Bones and you must defeat it in battle to gain access to the door. After defeating the Red Bones, you go through the door, into the next room. You will see a Shine Sprite Box in the room. Remember what I said about gathering Shine Sprites to upgrade your partners?? Well, it's those of what you need. Gather all that you can possibly get and save them. Once you get past the stairs, you find yourself against a locked door. Go down and you'll drop down to a platform that has two switches: one yellow and one purple. First, hit the purple one to bring down the small box. Once that is done, you can climb back up the stairs and get on top of the blocks to break that yellow one with your hammer. Now that's broken, use Koops to hit the red switch and the stairs will move. Once you climb the stairs again and get on top of the small ledge, use Koops again to retrieve the key. Use the key to open that locked door. Once you go through the door, hit the Save Block to save your progress. You have two places where you can go, this time. You can either stand on top of the green block and use Koops to hit the switch to up. Once up there, you will find another locked door and further up, you will find a badge on a high platform, of which you cannot grab. Your second choice is to go through the door, which for now, is the best choice. In here, you will find a red switch and a couple of enemies. Defeat the enemies, if you wish, and go near the red switch. Use Koops' holding ability (press and hold X) and run around the fence to the last gate, nearest to the wall. Let go of the X button and the gate will fly open. Walk under and the gate will quickly shut. Walk through the hole in the wall and you should see a familiar Black Box. If you recall, the previous Black Box 'cursed' you with the ability to transform into an Airplane. If you want, talk to the box or go through the door to find the key first. Either way, you will have to find it anyways. Once you go through the door, you will see holes in the ground and a chest in the center of the room. Open the chest to obtain the Black Key, but the spikes will rise from the ground and a spiked-roof will start coming down on you. Pay no attention to the crack in the wall, we will come back to that, when the time calls for it. Do not waste any time, make sure you are out of that room. After exiting that room, go back to the Black Box and talk with it again. It will grant you the ability to become very skinny and fit through the small entries, like gates and such. Since you can now become as thin as paper, use that ability to get through the bars. While you're at it, go through another cell and grab that FX badge. That badge is the badge that makes the cricket sound. Make sure to have that equipped before you face Hooktail, because it can make the battle a little more easier. Once you're back to the big green moving block, save your game again. Go through the door and keep on going, through the second door. You should be back in the room that contains the remains of Kolorado's father. You should see a key in the back, behind a well-built gate. Keep going back more until you find the gate that has the bars just up and down. Press and hold R to get through the poles and get that key. Now, take that key back to the room with the big green moving block and the Save Block. Save it again and take the big block up to the locked door and go through it. If you want, you can spend 6 coins to replenish all your HP and FP. Hit the blue switch and it should reveal a bridge. Go across until you reach another blue switch, that is a bit out of your reach. Use Koops to activate it and reveal the second bridge. Now you will notice that there isn't another blue switch and no way to get across. Go back to the bridge you just crossed and pop out that window. First, go right and collect that Star Piece that's outside. Second, keep going left until you reach another open window, that leads to the next open door. Go through the door and get on top of that big green moving block. Remember, use Koops to activate it. Once you activate it, go towards the door on your left. Defeat the enemy that's there and go off the platform, to where you land on the lower platform. Go through the gate, using your new Paper ability, and get that Life Shroom. This item is always very good to have, in case you find yourself constantly dying in a major battle. Find your way back up to the top and go through that door. In here, you will find a mouse that seems to be stealing something. After getting a kiss from her, she leaves and you can gather up the Shine Sprite and two chests, which contain: a Mushroom, a Castle Key, and a Honey Syrup. Exit the room and go to the right to open that locked door. Once in this room, fight your way to the door that's unreachable by jumping. Hammer the yellow switch that's in the corner of the room to bring down that yellow block. Use Koops' holding ability and get on top of that block. Let Koops go and the box will bring you up to a very small pathway for you to walk on. Keep walking to the left until you see the platform that has the Airplane panel on it. If you want, get on the otherside and keep walking to the right to gather up that Star Piece. Get back to the Airplane platform and use it to get to that door. Once through that door, you can go down and down the stairs to activate that big yellow moving block. Once you move it, you can gather up that key, using Koops abilites and you can jump down onto that block to gather up that badge that was impossible to get earlier. If you choose to get the badge, make sure you find your way back to this room. If you choose not to get it, go up the stairs and up the next two sets of stairs. Get the Shine Sprite, then open the door with the key. Once outside, you will notice that you are VERY high up. Keep going left and defeat the enemies that you pass. Once you are in the other tower, keep going up the spiral walkway until you reach the big doors. You will see a Save Block and a Heart Block. It'll cost 8 coins, but it's well worth it, because now you are going to be facing Hooktail. Make sure you saved your game and that you placed the Attack FX R badge on to make this battle a bit more easier for you. Once you're ready, walk through the doors and get ready to face your first boss: Hooktail. Use everything you possibly can and when you get him down to a certain health level, he will try to trick you. Refuse every offer that he gives you and he will crawl away. Once he does, however, he will attack the audience and regain 10 HP. Make sure to fully defeat him. A good way to make sure to take him down more faster is to perfect that Power Bounce on him. If you can jump on him at least more than five times, he will be a piece of cake. Now that you have defeated Hooktail and probably leveled up, you meet Koops's dad and you finally retrieve your first Crystal Star. You also learn a new special move called 'Earth Tremor.' Make sure to save your game. Soon enough, you see Princess Peach walking with the X-Nauts to meet the leader of the X-Nauts, Sir Grodus. After a while, you're in control of Princess Peach, which is a familiar memory from Paper Mario 64... Explore everything and go talk with the computer. After she sends the e-mail to Mario, soon you will be in control of Mario. However, what game wouldn't be complete without the King of Koopas, King Bowser?? Yes, you get to control him too. As Bowser, you can walk around and talk to all the guards. Make sure you get to the other side and Kammy Koopa will talk with you about the most recent events about Peach being stolen. Now that Bowser knows, he should be coming into the picture to bother you...

Now you're back in Petalburg, talking among the Koopas. Now that you're in control, remember that badge that was next to the Mayor's house, but couldn't get?? Use that Paper ability (Press and hold R) next to that slit in the fence and get it. After obtaining that badge, exit out of the town and continue. However, even before you can get to the bridge, you start shaking like mad... It's because you got an e-mail, but this is the e-mail from Princess Peach, remember?? Well, after reading that e-mail, continue your way back to the gray pipe we took to get here and get back to the Thousand-Year Door. I'm sure you remember the way to get there... Before you jump down the grap pipe, make sure to save. After entering the underground, find your way back to the Thousand-Year Door. Before you step on that platform, use your Paper ability to get to that spring and jump onto the ledge that has the Airplane Panel. Take it and glide yourself to the otherside and use the Paper ability again to reach that spring and you should find another Shine Sprite. Plus, if you go through that door, DO NOT go down that smaller pipe. If you do, you will be entering the Pit of 100 Trials and you are not ready to battle those people. Soo, stay in the Thousand-Year Door room and get to that platform. After getting to the Thousand-Year Door and obtaining the next destination for the Crystal Star, you re-appear inside the house of Professor Frankly. After leaving the house and adventuring out, you will see Luigi standing there. Talk with him and he'll tell you about the adventure that he's currently going through, as well. Now, you can talk to Merlon and upgrade anyone you want with the four Shine Sprites you have. Go to the store and pick up that Contact Lens that Chef Toad, named Zess T., made you buy. Give it to him and now you have access to the West Side of Rogueport. Go up to the Badge Shop and see what new badges they have to sell. If or when you are ready, let's make our way back to the green pipe and go to where we usually go to the Thousand-Year Door. Remember seeing that Puni creature that ran from us?? Well, now that we have the ability to get pass those bars, go through that doorway, behind the bars. Follow that Puni and talk with him. While they're talking, you see that Badge on that high platform?? Well, once that Puni opens up the way to go to Boggly Woods, instead of going right, go all the way left and you will be able to get that badge. After getting that badge, go all the way to the right and meet back up with the Puni, named Punio. Once you are ready, go through that pipe and we are on our way to next Chapter of the game...

Chapter Two - The Great Boggly Tree

Once you pop out of the pipe, you are now in Boggly Woods. Once you're in control, make sure you hit that Save Block, before you do go anywhere else. After saving, go ahead and continue your adventure. Just before you could go anywhere else, you see The Shadow Sirens and they seem to plotting something. Just before they can start, it seems that they lost something and cannot continue their mission. You see that one of the sisters is always being blamed for something that she hasn't done. Anyways, now that you're in control, you can go ahead and talk with them, but they won't recognize you. As for the enemies, be careful here. There are some new enemies that are a bit more powerful than the last. Defeat them, if you wish. It'll get your level up higher. Don't forget to hit the trees with your Hammer. Again, you never know what you will find hiding in the trees. Also, hiding within the white flowers, seems to be a Honey Syrup, that's next to a tree. Soon, you come across a wooden pipe, that leads to the background of the place. In the background, you should see a bigger tree. You must follow Punio through the wooden pipe and to the big tree, named The Great Tree. Now, you realize that you cannot enter the tree. Just before you leave, keep going to the right, along the tree. After jumping over a few tree trunks, you should see a small river falling from the tree. However, if you look more closely, you will find a badge, hidden behind it. Make sure you get it. Now, you must go back to the pipe and continue right to find this Madame Flurrie. After seeing her place, in the background, you learn that she's missing something. Make sure you continue to the right to find her place. You will find yourself next to a pipe that leads to an Airplane panel. However, if you take it you will find out that it's too low for you to get to that higher platform. Thinking that it's hard to figure it out, go down and to the right, up against that wall. You will find a way inside that wall and on that path that leads to the Blue Switch and a Star Piece. Once you hit the Blue Switch, the pipe will get bigger, allowing you to fly all the way down to that higher platform. Make sure to get that Star Piece. Take the pipe up to the top and stand on the Airplane Panel. Just before you use it, go a little to your left and you will see a Shine Sprite Box. Use Koops to get it. Now, use the Airplane Panel to glide your way across. Once you land, make sure to hit that red Question Mark. After collecting the badge, let's continue our way right. You're still hitting trees, right?? As you continue on your path, Punio points out Madame Flurrie's house. Use your Paper ability (Press and hold R) and you'll be able to get through that slit in the fence. If you continue right on the otherside of the fence, you will find a Vold Shroom item. Head towards the pipe, along the fence. You just may find another item. Take the pipe and head towards her house. Once inside, make sure to save your game and go up to her bedroom door. After the conversation, you learn that Madame Flurrie is missing a necklace. Remember the necklace the Shadow Siren had?? Yeah, you have to head back that way to talk to them. Once you get there, they finally figure out who you are and you have to battle them. A good idea for this battle?? Defeat the middle sister. She's the most powerful. Then, worry about the oldest sister, because of her magic. As for the youngest, she's easy to defeat. Now that you have the necklace, take it back to Madame Flurrie, at her house. After giving her back the necklace, you finally get to see who Madame Flurrie is. And without given a choice, she is now apart of your team. After learning what she's capable of, let's head back to The Great Tree. I know you can't enter her room and you did see a treasure chest in there, but you can't get it at the moment. Anyways, make sure you save your game and head back to The Great Tree. Just before you reach the pipe that leads to the tree, you get an e-mail. Go ahead and check it. After the e-amil, head to the tree. Go back to the top of that trunk, where you and Punio were before. Use Flurrie's Wind ability to blow away the invisible thingy. After that's gone, Punio will use the secret entrance to open the door. Once the door is open, head inside.

Once you're inside, you will notice that no one's in sight. Soon enough, you're confronted by two X-Nauts. Defeat them and you will find more Punies. After the big conversation, go towards the pipe and save your game. If you want, replenish your HP and FP with that Heart Box. After you save, take the pipe up. You will see a Puny device that's made for them. However, for the time being, you can't use it. Take the next pipe up. Make sure you're still checking the bushes. Remember, Star Pieces and items hide in them. Find your way left and continue up the pipe, to the upper level. Defeat the enemies, if you wish. After fighting your way to the next pipe, you will see an X-Naut walking about, bored. After seeing him get knocked out by Ms. Mowz, we find Mario and Co. in place that has cells. After talking with the Elder Puny, and watching it talk itself into circles, you see where the others are held at, as well. After talking with Punio's sister, go left into that little room. You will be greeted by the knocked out guard and Ms. Mowz. She slips the fact that the Crystal Star is at the bottom of the tree. Now that the guard is awake, he blames you for being knocked out and now you have to fight him. Defeating him is easy. After you take care of the light work, you will get the Red Key from the guard. Open the chest and you will get an Ultra Shroom, very good to have. Go back to the Elder's cell and open it. Suddenly, you're getting scolded for rescuing the Elder than the others. After it's all over, the Elder goes back to the entrance of the tree. You must head there and you'll get command of the other Punies, along with a special item, called the Puni Orb. Now that you're in command of 11 Punies now, save your game and go up the pipe. Remember that pedestal?? Place the Puni Orb on it and the Punies will stay put on the colored platform. After pressing down the platform, a hidden pipe appears. Make sure to grab that Puni Orb, first. Then, take the pipe down. See that mechanism next to the door. Activate it and now that door is accessible to the entrance of the tree. Place the Puni Orb in that pedestal. Jump down the way and look around. You should find a Shine Sprite Box. Make sure to get it. After getting that and taking the pipe back up, use Flurrie's wind ability to blow the Punies off the ledge. You will see that they are in bubbles. Keep using her wind ability to blow them to the otherside of this place. After getting to the otherside with all of them, make sure to get the Puni Orb and continue your way down. Fight your way through. See that weird looking pillar on top of the Airplane Panel. Use Flurrie's wind to blow it off. Use the Airplane Panel and glide your way to another Airplane Panel. Use that panel to get to the Shine Sprite Box that's on the high ledge you can't jump to. After that, defeat the enemies and go down the pipe. Once down, you will see a weird looking insect, known as a Jabbi. Go where that Jabbi went and you will be fighting against a 10-Jabbi squadron. After you defeat them, a new path is open. Go ahead and take it. You will see four pictures. Remember this place, because you will need to come back here, later on. Go grab that chest, as it contains the Blue Key. Now, with that key, take it to the Blue cell door and release the rest of the Punies. I'm sure you remember how to get there. Once with all of them, go back to where you saw the first Jabbi and this time, go left. Some of the Punies will get scared by that Pider, make sure you defeat it, in order to bring them all across. You will have to go down to the lower level to get some of them, but there is a Save Block down there. Make sure to save. Once back up on the upper level, use Koops to make a hidden block appear, just below the red Question Mark. It's another badge. After getting that badge, keep going left and go through that doorway. In here, you will be facing against a 100-Jabbi squadron. Now, this time, you may have to come back a couple of times, depending on if the Punies defeat them. But, if you're lucky, then it will only be once. Go through the next doorway and defeat any and all enemies. Go down the pipe and to the right. You should see another pedestal. Place the Puni Orb on it and suddenly, you will be trapped by Lord Crump. After being told by Lord Crump, he leaves and you're back in control. Take the Orb out and use your Paper ability to squeeze through. Take that pipe that's next to the cell down. Do you see that pattern?? Remember it, because we need to input that pattern somewhere. Remember that room that we saw the pictures first, that contained the Blue Key?? Well, we need to go back there and input THIS pattern in. Once you do, they will disappear and reveal a hidden doorway. Go through and you should find a new and improved pair of shoes. Once you learn what you can now do with these shoes, go back and spin jump that wooden spot in the ground. You will find yourself on platforms. If you jump to your left, you will find a badge. You must use Koops to get it. If you keep jumping to the right, you will be able to get that Shine Sprite Box. Get both and head back to the Punies. Once you get back inside that cell, break open that wooden spot, place the Puni Orb in that pedestal, and use Flurrie's wind to blow them down below. Once they're all gone, grab the Puni Orb, jump down and gather them all up and go back up the pipe. Go past the cell and back up the other pipe. Place the Puni Orb in the pedestal and blow them down to the tree stump you passed. Once all of them are down below, grab the Puni Orb, jump down and go through the pipe. Defeat the enemy and go down the next pipe. Defeat the other enemy and head down the next pipe. Now, we're stopped by water. Head down that pipe. Hop across the pillars and take the right pipe back up. See that light bluw switch?? If you press it, the other blue switch goes down. If you get off it, it comes back up. Push down the light blue switch, hold Koops out there, get off the light blue switch, then let Koops go to hit the blue switch, which drains the water to the lower level, allowing the Punies to go across the way. Jump down and get that chest that was hidden in the water. Go take that pipe back down and re-group with the Punies. Go across the water and make sure you remember to grab that Shine Sprite Box. After that, go down that upper pipe. Place that Puni Orb in the pedestal, and you will start to be lowered into the lowest part of the tree. You will see a Heart Box and a Save Block. Use both and go right. You will find Lord Crump trying to find the Crystal Star, until you come walking up. Place the Puni Orb in the pedestal and the Crystal Star appears. It's finally that easy... I wish. Now that Lord Crump has stolen it, you must chase him back to the entrance of the tree. Fight your way through and make sure you don't get stuck, because you are on a strict time limit. Once you get to the entrance, the Elder will stop him and now you have to fight against him and his robot. After you defeat Magnus von Grapple, Lord Crump loses the Crystal Star and all the X-Nauts leave the tree, letting you claim the Crystal Star for yourself. Now you save the game and we go see how Princess Peach is doing. Now you must go see TEC again. Just follow with what happens and she'll send another message to Mario. Save your game again and now, we check in on Bowser. Now, you can play as Bowser, playing through an old Mario-style level. After you complete that level, Bowser finds himself in Petalburg and everyone flips out. Bowser finds Princess Peach, in the window of a Koopa House. They find out that it's just a Life-size Poster of her... Who didn't see that one coming??... Oh man, I bet your laughed. Anyways, save your game again and now you're back as Mario and outside The Great Tree. After leaving The Great Tree and taking the pipe, you are stopped by another e-mail from Princess Peach. Read it and head back to the entrance of where we first came from. Hit that Save Block and take the pipe back to the underground of Rogueport.

Now that we're back underneath Rogueport, go through the tunnel and back out to the gate. Go through the gate and go right, towards that dark part in the wall. Use Flurrie's Wind to reveal the hidden room and get that chest. Since we are there, let's climb back up and use the Airplane Panel to glide across. Go inside and stand back on the pedestal to get the next location of the Crystal Star. After re-appearing back in the Professor's house, you learn where the Crystal Star is, which is in a place called Glitzville. Now, you know that you have to get a ticket to get there, however it's impossible to get an audience with Don Pianta. Remember when I said to not bother that guard, near Professor Frankly's house?? Well, challenge him to a fight and defeat him, easily. After you defeat him, you will gain access to the rest of the east side. Now that you can access this place, feel free to explore the only house available. Inside that house, is the place called 'The Trouble Center.' If you wish, go ahead and see if you want to accept any of the troubles. However, I'm not going to explain them in this adventure. I have a section for all the troubles and how to complete them. Moving on!!... Head back outside and you see those foot-prints that lead to the small crack in-between the houses?? Use your Paper ability to squeeze on through. Some random information, if you use Flurrie's wind on the Trouble Center's back part of the place, you will reveal a secret door that leads to the back of the Center. Go to the house, all the way in the back. Once inside, you will see Ishnail, the leader of the Robbos. He makes you pay 64 coins to get the information. He tells you to go to the west side of town and into the store, that's next to the Parlor. Next, he tells you to buy a Dried Shroom and a Dizzy Dial, in that precise order. Next, he tells you that the shopkeeper will ask you for favorite color. Despite what it may be, you WILL answer 'Yellow'. Nothing else. After he tells you all that, now it's time to head to the West Side of town. On your way, you can level up any of your characters with Merlon, check the Badge shop for new badges, and even speak with Luigi, who's standing with an oddly-colored Blooper. Talk with Luigi and learn about what has happened on his adventure. After you do that, talk to the Blooper, named Blooey, and he'll tell you the REAL story about what happened and why he's that color. As soon as you're in the Westside of town, go to the store that's all the way to the left. Go inside and buy the Dried Shroom and Dizzy Dial, in that order. The shopkeeper, a Boo, will ask you for your favorite color. Answer 'Yellow' and she'll let you through. Go through the door, up the stairs and into the office of Don Pianta. After talking and learning that you must complete a job for Don Pianta in order to get a Blimp Ticket. Go back out and head towards the dock. That's where you'll find them. If you see a big, green mouse, his name is Lumpy. He's asking for start-up funds of 100 coins to help him get ready to go to Dry Dry Desert. If you do invest, keep investing. It really does pay off in the end. Anyways, continue your way back down, near the Save Block. Right at the edge, you'll find them. After you talk with them, just head back to Don Pianta's office and talk with him. They'll show up and a big discussion will happen. After it's all over, speak with Don Pianta again and he'll give you the Blimp Ticket. Now that you have the Blimp Ticket, feel free to stock up on items or anything you may need. Because, in Glitzville, you're in for one crazy adventure. Once you're ready, head back to the Westside of Rogueport and go up, through the tunnel. You'll see a train, in front of you. Go save your game, then go right. Talk to the fish and show him your Blimp Ticket. He'll move out of the way and you can use the Green Pipe to go into the background. Go to the blimp and take it to Glitzville.

Chapter Three - Of Glitz and Glory

Once you're lowered down from the blimp, go ahead and roam around the place. Don't go inside the Arena just yet. Explore a little, check out the item store and talk with people. You'll see a Shine Sprite that's just near the entrance. However, no matter how much you Spin Jump, you cannot reach it. If you go near the entrance, search behind the bushes. You can find a Star Piece, hiding behind them. Go near the other store and you should find a big blue switch. Climb the boxes and use your Spin Jump to press it. A flight of stairs will appear. Open up the chest and you should get another badge. Use the spring and you'll be on an Airplane Panel. If you use it, and with just the right timings, you can get on top of the Hot Dog stand. Remember that, because later on in this Chapter, you will need to get on top of that. Once you're ready, head inside the Arena. You can either go through the doors in front of you or head up the stairs and go through those doors. Either way, it will lead you to the ring. After seeing someone get knocked out, Rawk Hawk holds up his belt, which has the Crystal Star on it. After discussing a plan, you must go talk to one of the officials that are standing by the door. Talk to him and he'll let you in. Find Mr. Grubba's office and talk with him. Once you're finally done listening to him, his assistant, Jolene, will escort you to the Minor-League Locker Room. She goes through the rules and whatnot to help you get started. Once you're in control, walk up to the GBA and activate it. You learn that you're in a match, however Mr. Grubba told you to do something, during the match. He has certain conditions for every match you have. You MUST satisify the condition AND win the match, in order to rank up. Soon, you find yourself in the ring with the Goomba Bros. Without hesitation, they attack you and the match is on. Remember the condition and make sure you win the match. After winning, you get to meet the rest of the contenders that are in the room. After meeting everyone, go out the door and find a Save Block. Save your game, frequently in this chapter.

For this chapter, there isn't a true guide to getting things done. Just go up to the GBA panel and request a match, whenever you're ready. Once you learn your condition and who you're facing, King K will walk up to you and tell you that you two are gonna be fighting. Once you're escorted to the ring, it's time to start the fight. After meeting the condition and winning the fight, you're back in the locker room. After you're rested and ready to go, reserve another match and follow instructions again. After you defeat The Pokey Triplets, rest and reserve another match. Follow its conditions and win again. After winning against the Dead Bones, you will hear someone being taken out of the arena, because they were hurt. Rest up and reserve another match. Follow its conditions and win again. After winning against Spike Storm, King K tells you about an egg-covered hot dog, at the Hot Dog stand. Go outside and head to that Hot Dog stand. As you go to head out, you will see Rawk Hawk surrounded by fans. Just head outside of the Arena. Once you're outside, you will see that the egg escaped. Go down there and try to catch the egg. After running around, the egg will go up on top of the Hot Dog stand. Remember that Airplane panel that I mentioned earlier?? Head back to it and use it to glide your way to that egg. After retrieving the egg, the egg insists on following you. After getting the OK from the Hot Dog owner, hop down and save your game. After saving, head back to the locker room and continue fighting. Just before you enter inside, another e-mail comes through. Check it, if you want. After you reserve your match, follow the conditions and win. After winning againt the Hand-It-Overs, King K asks you to go to that Juice shop and check out some girl for him. Head to the Juice shop and you'll find a girl Toad in a black dress. If you go behind the counter, you'll find a Star Piece. Head back to the locker room and tell King K. After telling him, go rest and reserve your next match. After winning against the Punk Rocks, King K tells you that he's gonna retire. Rest and reserve your next match. After winning against the Mind-Bogglers, you will notice that King K is no longer there. He made good on his word. Rest and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Bob-omb Squad, rest and save your game. After you save the game, let's explore around this place. Keep going to the left and you'll find Jolene and a Security Guard talking about a locked room. After that's all done, keep going left until you find a box that has cables lying next to it. Get on top of the cables and jump in the box. You'll find a badge. After that, head back to your locker room and reserve your next match. In this match, you will soon realize that no matte what you use, you cannot penetrate their defenses. You have two choices: Run or get beaten. Either way, you have to lose to these Twins. After going back to the locker rooms, you will see that your egg is gone. Soon enough, you see that your egg hatched into a little Yoshi. Its color varies from game to game. And when you ask it for its name, it's just a newborn soo you get to name it. Name it whatever you like, it's your partner. After learning about your new partner, rest and reserve your match. You will be facing the Twins again and this time, use Yoshi's Gulp move to defeat them. After winning against the Armored Harriers, you are summoned to Grubba's office. After getting your 30-coin bonus, Jolene escorts you to the Major League's room. You're interrupted by Rawk Hawk and you find out that the Crystal Star on the belt is a fake. After he leaves, you get a strange sounding e-mail. You have to answer it, because it's from a strange person named X. After checking that e-mail, rest and save your game. Once you're ready, reserve your next match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Tiny Spinies, rest and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Poker Faces, you will receive another e-mail from X. After reading it, follow what it says. Head outside to the watering hole that's outside of Glitz Pit. If you're lost, it's the Juice shop. Talk to the shopkeeper and he'll give you the Super Hammer. After learning its abilities, you'll receive another e-mail. Now, you have to smash that big block in the Minor-League room. After getting back into the Minor-League room and breaking that big block, hop on top that desk and onto that shelf. Use Yoshi's floating abilities to get across and grab that Dubious Paper. After studying it, you have to head back. Once you do, you're stopped by Jolene and she takes your paper. After leaving the Minor-League room, go save your game and head back into the Major-League room. Rest and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Shellshockers, you have to fight against The Armored Harriers again. After you defeat them again, you're back in the locker room. Once you answer the e-mail, you will notice that it's not from X. It's from some random person. After that, go rest and reserve your next match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Magikoopa Masters, you will see a piece of strawberry cake on a pedestal. Go ahead and eat it. Rest and reserve your next match and follow its conditions. After winning against the Fuzz, guess who shows up?? The Koopa King, Bowser. Now you have to face against Bowser, which is nothing really new. After you defeat Bowser, rest and save your game. After saving, go back to your locker room and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After winning against Craw-Daddy, you will receive another e-mail from X. This time, you have to go to the Phone Booth that's next to the store. Go there and you'll get a key that goes to that locked door we passed. You'll get another e-mail from our X friend and it says to go to the storage room that's next to Grubba's office. Head there and open the door with the key. Once inside, you'll see Ms. Mowz. After she leaves, you'll receive another e-mail from X. You have to find the switch that leads to the attic. Let's use Flurrie's Wind abilties to blow away the iron sheet and use your hammer to smash all the blocks. You'll find a badge and the blue switch. Hit the blue switch and the stairs will appear. Head upstairs and you'll find a locked door and a Shine Sprite. Collect the Shine Sprite and go right. You'll see boxes up and a row of bigger boxes. Use Yoshi's float ability to get across and break open that big block. You will see an entrance in the ground and a badge. Get back on the row of boxes and use Yoshi's ability to get that badge. After getting that badge, head down the entrance and you'll be above Grubba's office. After learning more of what's been going on, head to the vent and use your Paper ability to fall through. You should appear in the storage area again. Leave the storage room and head back to your locker room. Rest and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After winning against Hamma, Bamma, and Flare, you get another threatening e-mail. Just ignore it and rest. Reserve your next match and follow its conditions. Just before your match, Jolene will come in with another piece of Strawberry cake, from a fan. However, DO NOT eat this one. Leave it and one of your friends will eat it and it poisons him. You watch, I'm not kidding. After winning against Chomp Country, you will see that one of the combatants is on the floor, cursing at eating the cake you left. You see?!? It was poison. Rest and reserve another match and follow its conditions. After you defeat the Koopinator, you will receive another e-mail from our X friend. This time, go to the lobby and remove all The Great Gonzales posters, using Flurrie's Wind ability. However, let me save you a lot of time. Go to the lobby and head up the stairs. Blow off the poster that's to the left of the door upstairs and you'll get the second storage room key. Our X friend will e-mail you to go to the second floor of the storage room. Go back to the storage room and head upstairs to that locked door. Open up that door and you'll find that you're blocked by a row of tall boxes. Use Yoshi's floating ability to get across and break open that big block with your Super Hammer. You'll find Bandy Andy and King K and they seem to be just about dead. Head back towards the door and you'll just barely see Jolene peeking her head in. She quickly leaves and now, let's head back to the locker room and start the Title Match against Rawk Hawk. Make sure you are rested and ready and saved up to this point. Go reserve the match and you get to see what happens. Now, you're in a Minor-League room and it seems to be pretty vacant. Suddenly, you realize that you are locked in the Minor-League room with no way out... Go all the way right and see that Princess Peach poster?? Use Flurrie's Wind to blow it off. Go through the mid-room and you'll end up in the Major-League locker room, that has NO ONE in it. Keep going right and you'll find the bathroom door. Go inside and jump on the toilet and use it like a regular green pipe. Yeah, it's disgusting, but now you're in the actual Major-League room and now you can exit out. Go to the big door that leads to the ring. Now, it's time to face against Rawk Hawk for the championship. Make sure you follow the conditions and win the match. Now as the champion, you get the champion's room. Once inside, you'll realize that you do hear voices in the room. Then, you get an e-mail from our X friend. Now, you must find the ghost in the champ's room. Get on top of the boxes and use Yoshi's ability to float across both ways to get to that air-vent. Once at the air-vent, use your Super Hammer Spin to break it and go inside. You are in the air-ducts that leads straight to Grubba's office. Soon you realize that Grubba is behind the disappearances of the fighters, including this Prince Mush. Break open that vent with the hammer and find the paper that's in his drawer. After reading that paper, Grubba comes back in and sees you. After a minor confrontation, he runs and you have to chase him to the ring. Make sure you are rested and re-healed fully and that you saved your game, before you head into this final battle. Once at the ring, you will see that Grubba has a machine that is powered by the Crystal Star. Suddenly, Grubba uses the machine to fully power up into a huge Macho Grubba. Now, you have to face against this beast of an enemy. Use everything you can and make sure you defeat him at all costs. After defeating Grubba, Jolene comes up to you and tells you that she was your X friend (if you didn't figure it out, already). Jolene learns that her brother was 'disappeared' and that he couldn't come back. However, the power of the Crystal Star is still very mysterious and brings Prince Mush back to life. Now that Mush is alive and Grubba is defeated, you are able to take the Crystal Star and learn a new special move. After saving your game, we check in on Princess Peach. Now, you're having to pose as a X-Naut to talk to Sir Grodus. After learning that there's a plot to conquer the world (big surprise, haha), save the game and let's check in on how Bowser's doing after his defeat against Mario, at Glitzville. We find Bowser inside The Great Tree, fighting with the Puni Elder. We see Bowser has something funny to say, but doesn't want to say it. After that entire scandal is over, save the game and let's get back to Mario's position. Now that you're in control of Mario, you are let go from the Glitz Pit. However, you can make your come back to the ring again. However, you have to start at the bottom of the roster again. And that means having to fight everyone all over again. However, for the time being, let's get back to Rogueport and find the next location of the Crysta Star.

Once you're back in Rogueport, head back to the green pipe, near Professor Frankly's house. However, once you head that way, you're stopped by an e-mail from Princess Peach. After reading the e-mail, head towards the east side of town. If you want, talk with Luigi and learn of his recent adventure. Now, talk to the Bob-omb that's standing next to him and find the reason why he's following him around. After learning that, feel free to upgrade any of your partners and check the Badge Shop for new badges. Once you're ready, let's head to the pipe and take it down. Once back underground, go through the fence with your Paper ability and take the pipe down. Once here, use your Paper ability to drop down and let's go right this time. See that passage behind the fence?? Use the Paper ability and go through the fence and head inside. By now, you see that there's spikes that pop out of the ground. Well, you can't pass them, until you have your next partner, which is in the next chapter. Soo, let's head back out and let's keep going left, past the pipe. Remember this room?? Break that big block with your new hammer. Once you break it, use that elevator to get up and get that Shine Sprite. Jump onto the big switches and Spin Jump on them. The right blue pipe takes you directly to Petalburg. Jump back down and take the other pipe, all the way to the left. This pipe takes you directly to The Great Tree, in Boggly Woods. Jump back down and let's continue right, back where the green pipe is. Remember this way, for when you start doing the Trouble Centers or needing to get around the world faster. Trust me, for the later chapter, we will need this room. But until then, head down the green pipe. Once here, break that big block and a spring will appear. Bet you didn't know there was a hidden Star Piece there. Go ahead and grab it. Now, we can use the spring to get up, rather than having to Airplane it over, every time. Now that we're in the Thousand-Year Door room and we activated the Crystal Star, it will show the next location of the Crystal Star. After talking with Frankly, we take our leave to find the pipe that leads to the town called 'Twilight Town'. If you haven't noticed, but on top of his books, you see the very same pattern that we had to input back inside The Great Tree, remember?? Anyways, let's head to the Westside of Rogueport and slip through that gate on the floor. You should get another e-mail, as well. Once you fall through that sewage gate, in the middle of the road, you'll find yourself underneath Rogueport again. Use Yoshi's floating ability to get across to the left. Grab that Shine Sprite and head through that door. Take the pipe down, but you realize that the pipe rejects you from entering. Now, head back to Professor Frankly's house and tell him what has happened. He'll refer you to someone, in town, who likes dark places. Remember our friend, Darkly?? Talk with him, because he's a resident of Twilight Town. He'll put your name on you and now, you can use the pipe that leads to Twilight Town. Make sure you are ready to head to his next place, because it will not only challenge your strength, but your mind as well. Once you're saved and ready, head back to the pipe that leads to Twilight Town. Take it down and let's begin the next chapter.

Chapter Four - For Pigs the Bell Tolls

Once we appear from the pipe, we find ourselves in a strange place called Twilight Town. It's very dark and dim. You're greeted by one of the Twilight people. After a bit, he freaks out because the bell rang again. Then, suddenly, he's ben turned into a pig. Now, you're talking with the Mayor of Twilight Town, Dour. You follow Dour to his house and you learn of what exactly is going on. Apparently, someone has cursed the town and this person resides in the ancient building, known as the Creepy Steeple. Once you're in control, leave the Mayor's house and go right. Save your game and keep going right. Find the gatekeeper and talk with him. Now, you need to have the permission of the Mayor to go beyond the town. However, as you head back, you hear the bell ring again. Just who could have been turned into a pig, this time?? Just our luck... The Mayor was turned into a pig. Now, how are we going to get the permission to head out?? Just head back to the gatekeeper. Again, that bell goes off. How got turned into a pig, now?? To out luck, the gatekeeper was turned into a pig. Now we can enter and exit without having a hassle. Just after leaving the town, head into that shack. You'll find a Black Key. Yeeeeessssss... I know. It's to the Big Black Chest that claims to curse us. Continue right, as we go along this path. Be careful of the enemies here. They are a bit more powerful than you have easily faced before. As you continue on your way, you can hit all the trees and boxes, as you wish. When you get to a place where a tree trunk is in your way, summon Koops to get that key that's on the otherside. This is the Shop Key, that leads to the store's storage, back in Twilight Town. Once back in Twilight Town, head to the store and talk to the grieving wife. She'll let you take everything that's in the back. Once you open the door, you will see a Boo's Sheet, a Jammin' Jelly, a Life Shroom, a chest that has a badge in it, and of course, the cursed black chest. Still have that Black Key I said to get from that shack earlier?? Well, let's get it over with. Awaken the box and open it soo, that he can 'curse' you with a new ability. After learning this new rolling ability, let's head back to the tree trunk and roll ourselves underneath it. Once we pass that tree trunk, let's quickly grab that Star Piece that's behind it and keep going right. Now, we're stuck in front of a hay stack. Use Flurrie's Wind to blow it away, to reveal a pipe, that leads to the background of the place. Now, let's head deeper into the woods. You find yourself in the woods, not really knowing where to go. You see that small slip in between the trees?? Use your Paper ability to squeeze on through and get to the otherside. Keep going left and you will find a red Question Mark that has another badge in it. Keep going left and you will be stopped by a tree. Use Flurrie's Wind to blow away the front of it, to reveal an entry-way to the background of the trail. Now deeper into the woods, keep going right until you are stopped by a big boulder. See that darker spot in the center of the ground?? Again, use Flurrie's Wind to blow away the invisible sheet, that will reveal a hole that makes you appear in the background of the trail. Spin Jump on it and you are now in the background. Now, move that smaller rock, thus moving the bigger rock, to the right. See how it reveals a hole?? Drop down and you'll appear on the otherside of the rock. Keep going right. Finally, you have found the Creepy Steeple. If you want, use that Heart Box to regain all your HP and FP. Make sure you save your game. Use your Rolling ability to get under the fence and open the gate. Now, go to the door of the Creepy Steeple and enter inside.

Now that you're inside, you may spot that little hole in the wall. Use your Rolling ability to access the secret hidden room. Once in here, you will find two chests, a Star Piece and a Shine Sprite Box. The chests contain a badge called the Ice Smash and a Cookbook. Make sure you grab the Star Piece that's behind the chair and the Shine Sprite Box. After you're done in the room, roll back out. Keep going right and you should see two doors directly across from each other. If you try to enter in any or both of them, a Boo pops out and says that his friends are gone. Keep going right until you see a statue with a star on it. Move the statue over and you will fall into a hole. Once here, use Flurrie's Wind to remove that darkened spot on the wall, which leads to a Flower Saver badge. Head back and go through the door. Now, you see another door and a box. You can't open the door soo, just open the box. Suddenly, a whole bunch of Boos come out from the box. After they're all gone, a Boos appears and asks you how many came out of the box. Answer 200 and you'll get an Ultra Shroom. Head back up to the main part of the room and talk with the lone Boo. He'll call out his friends and they start to swarm you. If you don't move fast enough, they capture you and take you out of Creepy Steeple. However, if you want a challenge, wait until they almost completely swarm you and use your Hammer Spin attack to knock them off. One will say that you'd be nice to them, and suddenly, they morph into an Atomic Boo. Defeat this Boo and get the badge that it drops. Anyways, let's start with the North door first. Keep going right until you reach the door. Notice that broken part in the fence?? Well, you can actually use your Paper ability to fit through it and you'll find a Golden tree, which has Golden leaves. Remember where this tree is, because later on, in the sub-adventures, we will need it. Anyways, head back to the door and you should see a red switch. Hit the switch and the sound of movement will come from the next room. It's actually the staircase moving towards your direction. Go through the door and go up the stairs and through the next door. You're up on the upper level now. Keep going left and jump the small passage, until you get to a Save Block and a locked door. Save your game and jump down. Now, let's go through the South door. Keep going right, defeating enemies, and you should find the same red switch. Hit the switch twice to move the staircase twice. Now, go through that door, up the stairs, and through the next door. Now, keep going left until you see a key, that's out of your reach. Use Koops to get it and head back to the door. Go through the door and down the stairs. This time, go through the North door and hit the switch twice to move the staircase twice. Go back and up the stairs and through the next door. Get to the locked door and open it. Go up the stairs and jump on the spring to access the room, where the creature is. Now you have to fight it. During this battle, he will copy you and turn into a darker shadow of you. Defeat this enemy and that's it. You get the Crystal Star and the chapter is over... If only it was that easy, though. After Mario leaves, press (A) and the shadow Mario moves. Confused?? Head down the stairs and back out of Creepy Steeple. Save your game and head back to town. Once you're almost there, you're stopped by Mario. Get it, yet?? This creature took your name and identity. He gives you a chance to guess his name, but we don't know it, yet. And if you look closely, the letter 'p' is missing in your alphabet. Soo, we know his name has a 'p' in it. Since you can't hurt him, you must run from the battle and you'll run into town. Now, go where Vivian is looking for the bomb and help her find it. You may just find other things in those bushes. After you find the bomb, give it to Vivian. She, then, tells you that it's busted and of no use. Soo, after talking with her, she decides to help you and joins you party. Now, use her to hide underneath every tree that has birds on it. Soon enough, you learn that this enemy's secret is hidden underneath the Creepy Steeple. Now we must make our way back to Creepy Steeple. Do the same thing with the Mario look-alike and run. Fight your way back to the entrance of Creepy Steeple. Save your game and let's enter down the well, this time. Once you land, you should see a Shine Sprite Box, right next to you. Go ahead and grab it and continue right. Once in here, you're going to be attacked by many enemies. Defeat them and get that red Question Mark that contains a badge in it. You will notice that this obstable needs to be pushed. Push it up a short ways and then use Vivian's Hiding ability to let it go over you. Now on the otherside of it, head up and go through the door. Now, you should see a Save Block and a Shine Sprite Box. Get both. After saving, use your Rolling ability all the way up, you should see a wooden block. Use your Spin Jump to break it and drop down. Now, you're in the glass background of where you let loose all the Boos from the box. Use your Rolling abilities again to enter the room to yuor left. Now, use Vivian's Hiding ability near the bird and the bird will continue to talk to itself. You learn that his enemy's name is Doopliss. Open all four chests, which contain: the letter 'p', a Steeple Key, a Power Plus Badge, and a Mr. Softener item. Open up the door and head back up. Head outside of Creepy Steeple and back to where the Mario imposter is. Since we now know his name, enter it when he asks you for it. Enter in "D-o-o-p-l-i-s-s" and he will freak out. He runs away from you. Where did he go?? He went back to Creepy Steeple. Head back there and get your way up to his room, where you first fought him. Once you're there, he has you fight again. Vivian figures out that you're actually Mario and disappears from your team. As you attack Doopliss, Vivian comes back and helps you through the fight. After you defeat Doopliss, you get your name and identity back and Doopliss runs away again. Vivian gives you the Crystal Star and permanently joins your team. Save the game and let's check in on Princess Peach. TEC asks her questions, but they're actually intel that she's not suppose to know. TEC tells her that the Thousand-Year Door opens when you have all seven Crystal Stars, Grodus is planning to conquer the world, the treasure is actually a 1,000-year-old demon spirit, Grodus plans on resurrecting the demon spirit again, and the only way to re-seal it back up is to use the seven Crystal Stars. Peach immediately sends an e-mail to Mario and leaves. Save the game and let's check in on Bowser, now. Bowser and Kammy are on their way back to Glitzville. During Bowser's travels, his clown-ride runs out of fuel and ends up falling into the ocean. Now, you get to play as Bowser again in an underwater level. After finishing the level, Bowser finds himself back in Rogueport docks. Kammy catches up with him and Bowser's just mad that he isn't having a good day. Save your game and let's get back to Mario. After you're in control of Mario, head down the pipe and let's get back to the Thousand-Year Door room and get the next location of the Crystal Star.

After appearing back in Professor Frankly's house, we tell him about Peach's e-mail and they he, too, came to the same conclusion. You also learn that the demon actually created the Crystal Stars to help dominate the world. Soo, it's safe to say that these Crystal Stars can't distinguish good from evil. After getting the location, which is called Keelhaul Key, let's head out. Go to Merlon and upgrade any of your partners. Go check out all the shops, including the Badge shop to see if anything is new. Once you're ready, head down to the docks and talk with the locals. After learning about someone named Flavio, you must speak with him in Podley's Juice shop, which is where the Inn is. There, you will see Luigi with a Beetle that has a tool in its shell. Talk with Luigi and his friend, Torque, to learn about the latest adventure. After that, you will find Flavio singing in the corner of the room. Watch what he sings, because what he sings is what you will need to know, later on in the next chapter. Anyways, talk with him and he'll agree to do this adventure to Keelhaul Key. Meet up with him in the docks, on his ship. He then tells you that the ship has no Navigator. Pa-Patch talks about an Admiral, named Admiral Bobbery, that he has the gifted Helmsman Touch. You are to seek out Bobbery and ask him to navigate the ship for us. His house is in Eastside of Rogueport, between Professor Frankly's and the Trouble Center's houses. You will notice that the door is locked. Keep going right and you see those stacked up crates?? Use Yoshi to get across the gap and up the crates, to the top of the roof. Once there, use Yoshi again to cross that gap. Now, get on top of Bobbery's house and see that entrance for the chimey?? Behind it is a Star Piece. Use your Rolling ability to enter his house, from teh chimey. After you talk with him, he will deny being this Bobbery. Now that the door is unlocked, go back to Podley's Juice bar and talk with Podley, the shopkeeper. He will tell you that Bobbery does in fact live in the house where you just came from. Go back there and talk with Bobbert again. This time, we confront him and he still doesn't move at all. Leave his house and go talk with Podley again. He will tell you why Bobbery will never set sail again. He tells you that Bobbery was once married to a beautiful woman named Scarlette. He tells that their love is only reserved for fairy tales and stories. While Bobbery was out on a long and lonely voyage, Scarlette fell ill and in time, passed away. Bobbery didn't know, until he returned home. Feeling the loss was his fault, he vowed to never set sail again. Since we are in need of his abilities, Podley gives you an Old Letter, a letter that Scarlette, herself, wrote on her deathbed. Take the letter to Bobbery and he is surprised. She tells him that he shouldn't be blaming himself for her death. That time, like love, is a tide. She tells him that Bobbery is one with the tide, as he was one with her. Ovewhelmed by emotion, he excuses himself into his room. After waiting for a bit, he comes back out and finally agrees to be your Navigator. Once you leave his house, Admiral Bobbery leaves you and goes to inspect the ship. Make sure you got everything and you are very prepared for this trip, because once you set sail from Rogueport, you cannot return. Once you're ready, head back to the docks. Save your game and talk with Flavio. Set sail and let's get it started. You see an X-Naut appear from behind a corner, and he talks about that X-Naut Black has successfully infiltrated the ship. If you didn't notice, that bigger person that was near the front of the ship, the one that looks like he's covered up for a reason?? Yeah, that's actually Lord Crump, coming along to mess up your adventure. But, that's for the later part of the chapter. Now that you've set sail, let's start the next chapter.

Chapter Five - The Key to Pirates

You read Flavio's logs from day to day, until nightfall. As Flavio's boasting about some adventure he had, the ship has magically stopped moving. Pa-Patch goes up to the Crow's Nest to see what's the problem. However, he finds out that an Ember spirit is in front of him. He freaks out and the ships becomes surrounded by the Ember spirits. The ship gets swallowed up and the crew seems to be missing. Flavio talks about how they were washed up upon shore and that they are missing crew members. After three days, we find Captain Mario looking about, waiting to see another ship in the distance. Pa-Patch tells him that they made a hut for him to rest (which is the Inn) and for him to check it out. Head up and up and you just may find an old, but familiar character. It's called a Whacka. If you remember from Paper Mario 64, you can whack these guys to get a Whacka's Bump, which restores 25 HP and 25 FP. Feel free to get one or not. After you're done, head back down and to the right. You will be told that Flavio and Pa-Patch are fighting again. After they exchange words and leave the scene, they run back and cower behind Mario, because the Ember spirits have returned. You must fight them and defeat them. Remember that you cannot jump on them, because you will get burned. After defeating them, you are told to go search the rest of the island for more of the Ember spirits. Once you leave, in the first bush you see, you will find a Star Piece inside it. Defeat the Fuzzies and continue your way right. Make sure you grab that red Question Mark box that contains a badge. Let's continue going right. Hopefully you know that you can hit trees here... Anyways, keep going across the way and you will find Admiral Bobbery and two others held at bay by two Embers. Bobbery orders you to take the other two to safety, while he battles the Embers. After rescuing them, they run off, until the bigger one comes back. He tells you that you may know who he is, but we can't tell Mario. If you didn't figure it out, that's Lord Crump. Anyways, go back and go across the bridge. Underneath the tree, you will find a Shine Sprite Box. Get it and continue right. Here, we find Bobbery trapped in a tree with the two Embers circling. Battle them and knock Bobbery down. After talking with Bobbery, we are to head back to the camp site and talk with Flavio, because he has the Chuckola Cola. Flavio is willing to part with it, as long as we bring something back. Remember that bridge we cross?? See that coconut tree in the back?? Go south and drop down the steps. Use Yoshi to float across the gaps and use the green pipe. You'll appear next to the tree. Whack it and gather up a coconut. Bring it back to Flavio and trade him for the Chuckola Cola. Once you have the Chuckola Cola, head back to Admiral Bobbery and give it to him. He drinks it and talks for a little bit more. After he's done talking, he claims to be passing on. After trying to talk with him, you figure out that he's only sleeping. Smack him with your hammer and he will awaken. After talking with him, he joins your party, as he will be an explosive help in your adventures. Go back to the camp site and talk with Flavio again. By popular vote of hate, Flavio has to join your team to head back far east, to the two rocks with faces. Head there and we'll get this place open. Once there, go up to the skull that's in the rock. Press (A) on it and you will notice that something could be placed in it. Talk with Flavio and borrow his Skull Gem. Place it in there and the two brothers become active. Remember the song that Flavio keeps singing?? "3 times Red 'Stache lands on his end! Blue Stache's belly 4 times is whacked, so let's hear those fireworks go BOOM!"?? Spin Jump on the Red Brother's head 3 times, then whack the Blue Brother 4 times with your hammer. After that, a small gateway opens above the skull's head. Throw Bobbery in there and he'll explode the entrance open. Flavio gets back his Skull Gem and runs back to the camp site, leaving you to do all the work. Well, let's get it over with.

Once inside the Pirate's Grotto, save your game and continue further down. Continue your way and jump onto the floating boat. Go all the way up and jump. You will find a Shie Sprite Box. Keep going left and you can get that Star Piece. You will see spikes jumping up from the ground. Use Vivian's Hiding ability to get past them. Cross the bridge and defeat the Bill Blasters and continue right. Jump down and cross the bridge. Jump onto the platform and keep going. Jump on to that barrel in the water and jump across and keep going right. We'll get to that crane in a bit, but for the meantime, let's just continue right. Save your game and keep on heading up. You can try and collect that Shine Sprite Box, but it may be difficult. Anyways, continue up and activate that blue switch, by throwing Bobbery up there. Once here, keep going left and up the waterfall. Go down the otherside and through the next door. This next one is a bit tricky. See the moving box?? Place Bobbery on it and make sure you're on the moving platform. It will raise you to the key. Get the Key and get on top of the box that weighs down the moving platform. That will take you up further to a Shine Sprite Box and an open jug that has a Star Piece in it. Now that you have the Grotto Key, head back to that locked door and go through it. Defeat the enemies and go south, through the crack in the wall. Now that you're here, use your Rolling ability to roll under the spikes that pop out from the wall. Clear that and keep going left. You spot a Shine Sprite Box, but you just can't seem to reach it, yet. Keep pressing on and time your jumps. After getting pass all that, you're in front of a boarded up block. Use Bobbery to explode it open and continue your way. Defeat the Bill Blasters and continue left. Once here, defeat the enemy and keep going left, and jump down. Go into the wrecked ship and we'll be greeted by the Big Black Box again... Yeeeeessss, again we have to see this person, however, this is the last time we have to. This is the last ability Mario has to learn from the Black Box. Talk with the box and defeat the ghost that has the key. You can grab that badge that's behind the Black Box, too. Now you have the ability to use those Boat platforms you've seen around. After getting cursed for the last time, head back out and use the Boat platform to get back to the otherside. Let's head back to the right and all the way back up those jumping ledges. Head back to that waterfall and use the Boat platform and go left. Go up and through that waterfall and then to the right. You should see another Boat platform and a chest. Grab the chest, which contains the Defend Plus P badge. Head back into the waters and go back to the other Boat platform. After transforming back, head back down to the Save Block and save your game. Remember that crank that we can't use?? Well, head back to the beginning and you can get the Gate Handle that's sitting on a broken part of a boat, by using the Boat ability. Get that and come back to the floodgate. Use the Gate Handle to open it. After opening it, go back up the ledges and use that Boat platform again and this time, go down the waterfall and use that opening to continue through. Continue your way down and go to the right, through that passage. Here, you must dodge the waves. After battling against waves, keep going right, through that passage. You'll see that there's a lot more people on a tiny broken boat that you must help. Though they are confused that it's a Paper Boat, but you must help save them. Get to the Boat platform and take that green pipe to the background. Once you're pass the boat, you'll see that there's two blue switches you need to get to. Keep moving to the left and jump all the way up to the green pipe. It'll bring you back from the background. Use the Airplane panel to glide your way to the green pipes. Click one, go back to the Airplane panel, glide to the next and click the other one. You will see that they have all moved to the otherside. Go back to the rocking ship and use that green pipe to get to them. You recognize two of them, right?? Frankie and Francesca?? After talking with them, head right. Once you're here, you're almost about to face Cortez himself. Save your game and use that Heart Box. After using it, head inside and talk with Cortez. Just because Cortez has four arms, doesn't mean he's hard to defeat. Just attack his arms and bone pile and you'll be able to defeat him. However, be extra careful. Cortez has other forms of himself. Once you defeat his first form, he transforms into a snake-like formation. Once you defeat his second form, he transforms into just a floating head, surrounded by his four weapons. After defeating him, he calls it quits, for now. He tells you that you cannot defeat him, but you FINALLY tell him that you're only here for the Crystal Star. He's openly agrees to give it to you and that's the end of the chapter. After saving your game, Cortez throws you out and now you head back to meet up with the other survivors. After exploding that crack in the wall, leave out with the others and you'll be welcomed by someone we both knew who it was. Once Lord Crump reveals himself, Flavio has a brilliant idea to talk with Cortez about using his ship to battle against the X-Nauts. Soo, lead him back to Cortez and talk with him. You learn that the Skull Gem is actually the power-source of Cortez's magical and most powerful ship, called the Black Skull. Head back and you'll see everyone's on the ship. Now that the ship is in working order, it's time to fight back against Lord Crump. Now, it's time to face against Lord Crump, once again. Defeat his little X-Naut pile and attack him directly. After you defeat him, they run away from you. Save your game and let's go check up on Princess Peach. TEC is having you go into Grodus's room and retrieve a data disk. In order for this to work, you will need to learn how to time your potion-making and know how to follow directions to a Tee. Place the potions in this order: Red, Blue, Orange, and Green. Follow what it does and time your 30 seconds accordingly. After you think it's done, it should be a bright green color. If it worked, head to Grodus's room and look in box, on the shelf. If it didn't work, try again. After giving TEC the data disk, save your game and let's check in on Bowser. Once you're in control of Bowser, talk to Lord Crump and they don't seem to like each other. Lord Crump summons his X-Nauts army, while Bowser summons his awesome Koopa army. Remember that Super Bombomb that Vivian said was broken?? Well, Lord Crump tried pulling the pin on that one, but Bowser was the one that brought it to life. Save your game and let's get back to Mario. We use the Black Skull to get back to Rogueport.

Once back in Rogueport, let's check out all the shops and such. You can chat with Luigi and his friend to find out what happened on his recent adventure. Re-stock on stuff and see if there's anything new to buy. Also, upgrade any of your partners up and once you're done, let's head down to the door and get the next location of the Crystal Star. If you spoke to Merlon, he's told you that you must adventure back to Hooktail's Castle and retrieve something for him. Do you remember that crack in the wall, where all the spikes popped up and we had to run out of there under a time limit?? Well, take Bobbery there and blow open that crack. Go through that passage and hit the blue switch. Open the chest and it will have an Up Arrow. Take it back to Merlon. Merlon finds the Ultra Stone and now you can upgrade your characters to their highest level. Upgrade your partners, if you want or can. After you complete that, head down to the Thousand-Year Door and find the next location of the Crystal Star. After getting the location and appearing in Professor Frankly's house, you learn that you have to board the Excess Express, which requires you to go see Don Pianta again. When you get to him, you can't talk with him because he's not feeling to good. Now, you have to go find Francesca and Frankie, who are still at Keelhaul Key. Soo, take the ship back to the camp site and talk with the people there. You will find out that the Piantas are in the jungle searching for something. Head into the jungle and find them, which they will be right outside the camp site. After talking with them, you find out that she lost her ring. Since Frankie had to apologize and say 'I love you' 100 times (literally, it counts it), we can finally go look for that ring. Instead of spending time looking for it, I'll tell you exactly where to go and where to exactly find it. Go to the Skull heads place. Remember the tree you saved Bobbery in?? Well, the ring will be exactly next to the steps leading to that tree. Pick it up and go give it to Francesca. Now that she has her ring, they can finally go back to Rogueport and check up on the Don. Head to the docks and take the ship back to Rogueport. Once back in Rogueport, Francesca and Frankie dart ahead of you. Make your way back to Don Pianta's office and watch what happens. Don Pianta finally realizes his age and retires from the business, naming Frankie as his successor. Now that Frankie is in charge, Don Pianta gives you the Train ticket, allowing you to board the Excess Express. Once you're ready and stocked up on stuff you need, head to the train. Make sure to save your game and then, let's board the train, starting the next chapter.

Chapter Six - 3 Days of Excess

Day one of the Voyage. We see our adventurers in their room. Your partner notices a note on the floor. Once you're in control, get that Shine Sprite Box that's behind the end table. Walk outside your room and save your game. Go left and through the door, to the kitchen. Talk with people, check out the store, and keep going left. After passing the rooms, you'll find the Conductor of the train. Talk to him about the threat note you found and he'll keep his ears open for anything new that may happen. Head back right, into the kitchen, and you'll find many people surrounding the Cheep-Cheep. Talk with the penguin and you'll find out that someone has stolen the pot of gumbo. After listening to them argue, you will see wet-spots on the ground. Follow the spilled stew all the way to room #3, to the big Toad that has a spoon and a fork. Talk with him and he'll clue you to NOT look in the drawers. Soo, look in there and you'll find the pot, which has been licked clean. After confessing, Pennington tells you that he knows about the note you got and to meet him in room #6. Take the pot back to the chef to get a Star Piece and have a talk with Pennington, in his room. After talking with Pennington, who thinks you're Luigi, leave his room and you'll notice that it's evening now. Go to room #8 and we'll find the Bob-omb family arguing. Talk with the kid and head back to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, talk with the pig-tailed Toadette and she'll ask you find her Shell Earrings. Along your search through all the rooms and cars, if you talk with Toodles, you have to help find her Gold Ring, as well. Soo, now you have to be on the look-out for a Gold Ring and a pair of Shell Earrings. Since you can't find it, let's talk with the Bob-omb family again. Talk with the family and the kid will tell you that he doesn't want any of the gifts they're talking about. He'll give you two hints of what he wants as a present. It's a certain person's autograph. Let's just cut to the chase, shall we?? Go talk with the Conductor and he'll tell you that he heard Bub's dream of becoming a Train Engineer. Now, head to the Train Engineer and talk with him. Get his autograph and bring it back to Bub. He'll give you a Shine Sprite. After leaving the room, you will see that it's now nightfall. Talk with the Conductor and he'll tell you that he ran out of blankets, because he believes that there's a stowaway on board. If you remember, room #4 had no one inside it. Let's go back to that room. Once inside, bring out Vivian and go into hiding. Wait a couple minutes and a ghost Toad will appear. Talk with him and he'll ask you to retrieve his Diary Book that he left, after he died. He'll tell you, just before leaving, that you mustn't read it, at all. If you do, he will actually make good promise on his word. He will end your game and the opening of the game will appear. Soo, just go talk with the Conductor again and he'll let you in the baggage area. Once here, use your Paper ability to get through the slit between the boxes and you'll get the Diary. Give the Diary back to the ghost and he'll pretend to leave. But, he decides to stay longer. After getting the blanket, take it to the Conductor and he'll give you a Mushroom. Since that wraps it for today, let's head to our room, room #5, and let's get some sleep.

Day two of the Voyage. Head out your room and save your game. After saving, head through the kitchen and to Pennington's room, where you'll find the penguin and the mouse talking. You learn that his briefcase is missing, that contains a prototype item called, "Nitro Honey Syrup". He tells you that if it is mixed with the calcium from a seashell and a bit of gold, it will be explosive. Remember our note, from the first day?? Whoever this person is, has these items. If you are searching through the rooms again, head to Zip Toad's room. You'll find a paper on the floor that looks very complicated to understand. Take the paper and head to the business mouse and Pennington. After learning of what it is, Pennington asks you to find Zip Toad. Head back to your room and you'll find another piece of paper. This time, use Vivian's Hiding ability and Zip Toad will come popping out from your bed. Zip Toad freaks out when he sees you and says that you cannot catch him. After getting up easily, he gives up all the items he took: the Gold Ring, the Shell Earrings, and the Briefcase. Once Zip Toad's off the train, we realize that it's actually Doopliss and he runs off. Since the trains has stopped, we are able to get off and look around more. As you look about, you talk with the people and you learn that someone raised the bridge, not allowing the train to continue on its course. You get the station key and now, you have to enter the station. Make sure you save your game, before entering. Once inside, you spot a badge that's WAAAAY beyond your reach. Don't worry, we'll get it before we leave this place. But for now, head right and through the door. You will notice papers on the wall. These are easily blown off by Flurrie's Wind. Next to the papers, you will see a small entrance. Use your Rolling ability to get underneath and activate that blue switch. It'll reveal the stairs. Head up the stairs and through the door. Once here, be aware of the enemies. After defeating them, head up the stairs and time your jumps to get across. Once across, use your Rolling ability to get underneath. Jump on the rotating cog and hop inside the spinning staircase. Jump onto the slow-moving piece. You will see a key on the otherside of the moving wall. Use Koops to get it. Jump down and go back through that door. Head down the stairs and open up that locked door and go through. Now, you'll be outside of the station. Defeat the enemies. Do you see that yellow block?? Jump on top of it and jump again to reveal a hidden block above it. It'll contain a Thunder Rage. Head down the stairs and get that Shine Sprite Box that's at the bottom on the stairs. Keep going left and you will reach a paper-covered door. Use Flurrie's Wind to blow them all off and go through the door. Once here, defeat the flying enemies and use your Rolling ability to get underneath there. Now here, you will realize that it's a maze. If you're feeling explorative, you'll find a badge. However, I'll tell you the right way to go. Back at the top, go down and go right. Jump to get across and drop down that hole in the ground. Once here, you can either jump across to get the badge and jump back, or fall down and keep to the left side of the wall. That is most important. Stay to the left of the wall, while falling. You'll fall down more, until you reach steps. Jump up the steps and keep going down, until you fall into a cart. You will realize that if you took any other way, you'd be at the bottom of the place, not being able to reach the upper portion and accessing the door. Go through the door. You will find yourself in a room that has a key at the very top. You cannot reach it yet, but we will need to get it soon. Go through the door. You will see Goombas around. Defeat them and the starred boxes will open. You will notice that each of them has a number spinning inside it. That number indicates how many times you need to hit them. After hitting them at the precise count, the stairs will appear, leaving you to access the higher parts of this room. You will see a Shine Sprite Box very high up above the steps. You can either wait until you have your next item or you can use Koops to get it. Either way, don't leave here without it. As a reminder, this is the one and only time you will be stopping here. Soo, try and find everything you can here, before you leave this place. Go up the stairs and through the passageway. Here, you'll find a big chest, that contains the Ultra Boots. Now, use the Spring Jump to get to that pipe on the ceiling and go across the boxes to the otherside. Use your Paper ability to get through the vent and now, you're back to the room where that key is. Jump on the boxes that are near the door, use Yoshi to get across, use the Spring Jump to use the pipe, jump off once on the otherside of the fence, get underneath the platform where the key is, use the Spring Jump to knock it off the platform. Now that you have the elevator key, head back to the beginning of the station and unlock the elevator. Just before you head back inside, after climbing all those stairs, did you notice that small entrance at the bottom of the stairs?? Use the Rolling ability to roll down and you'll find another badge here. Take the elevator down and you will find these weird creatures surrounding a lever. Use Flurrie's Wind to blow them away and reveal the lever. Use it and a switch will appear. Hit the switch and head to the train. Before you leave, make sure to use that Spring Jump where that badge is on that high platform. Exit the station and save your game and replenish your HP and FP. Board the train and let's continue this adventure. Now back on the train, go talk with the waitress and Toodles and give them back their stuff. The waitress gives you a Star Piece and Toodles gives you 30 coins. After returning those items, head back to your room and sleep off the second day. Tomorrow, we arrive in Poshley Heights and we must get to the Crystal Star before anyone else does.

Day three of the Voyage. Head out your room and save your game. If you search around, you will not find anyone about the train, except the store shopkeeper. If you go to the baggage area, the Conductor is gone. When you try to open the door, it won't let you. Soo, our next idea is to head to the Engine Room. If you've looked in every room, you will not find anyone there. Just where are they?? The only place to search is the Engine Room. Once in the Engine Room, you will notice that there's no one else here, except for the Engineer. Oh, a bit of Mario facts... You see the Engine right?? For those who have place Super Mario Brothers 2, the one that you can choose up to four different characters, let me help you... Doesn't that Engine look almost EXACTLY like the machine used to defeat Wart?? Remember, it spits out the vegetables to throw at Wart?? If you've played that game and beaten Wart, you will know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Anyways!!... Talk with the Engineer. Remember those black things we saw guarding the lever?? Well, they're on the train. If you've already searched all the rooms, don't bother searching again. Just head towards the baggage area. Now that you can open the door, you will see a whole bunch of them. You will notice that some of them have the passengers inside their quarrel. Best way to rid these guys, use Flurrie's Wind. After rescuing the Waitress and the Conductor, go after them to get everyone else. Use the Spring Jump on that red pipe to get to the window. You will be outside the train and you will see an army of them all over the train. Use your hammer to fight your way through right. Once you've gone far enough right, you'll notice that these creatures have formed a being. Not given a choice, you have to battle these things. After defeating it and saving everyone, your train now finally stops at the precise destination. Head out your room and save your game. After saving, head out the train and keep going down until you reach the Poshley Sanctum. You will see that there's a note on the Sanctum door. After reading it, we see the Detective walking up to you. We finally know that he's actually the Sanctum Manager, not a Detective. After he opens the door and heads inside, you will see the Shadow Sirens and Doopliss gain the Crystal Star. However, Pennington assures us that the REAL Crystal Star is safe. Now, let's find that entrance. Keep going north until you see that star on the ground. Use your Spring Jump on the star and you'll grab onto a pole. Go right and jump off on the ledge. Step onto that next star pad and Spring Jump onto the next pole. Since you can't go left, go right and jump off. Go north, stand on the star pad, and Spring Jump onto the pole. Go right and jump off. Use the Airplane panel to fly across. If you landed on the first platform, go to the star pad and Spring Jump onto the pole. Jump off and go north to the next star pad. Spring jump onto the pipe and go left. Get off the pole and hit that blue switch. It reveals a green tunnel and takes you to the portrait in the background. Enter in the building. Before you get the Crystal Star, use the star pads and poles to get to the left topside. There, you will find another badge. After you get the badge, go gather up the Crystal Star and that's the end of the chapter. Save your game and get back to Pennington and talk with him. After talking with him, leave the Sanctum. Now, it's time to check in on Princess Peach. TEC tells her that Grodus has a certain reason why she's being kept there. And as for her location?? We come to find out that she's on the Moon. Just as she's sending her e-mail, guess who shows up?? Grodus and his lackies. Since they figured out everything, TEC was shut down, just moments after sending the fragmented e-mail. Save your game and let's check in on Bowser. Bowser seems to finally find something to work for him. Just after he leaves, we see Luigi come walking in for some odd reason. After he leaves, you're in control of Bowser, battling your way through an old Super Mario Brothers castle. After defeating the castle, we find Bowser in a Rec room that Rawk Hawk owns. After easily defeating him, we see that the belt's Crystal Star breaks. Bowser throws another temper-tantrum and we head back to Mario. Save your game and let's get back to Rogueport, via the Excess Express.

Finally back in Rogueport, you get Princess Peach's fragmented e-mail. Now that you know she's on the moon, let's check the stores and badge shop to see if anything new has come. Remember that big chest in Rogueport Square?? Use the Spring Jump to bring it down and you shall receive the Ultra Hammer. Talk to Luigi and his friend, if you want to. Upgrade any of your friends and once you're ready, let's make our way for the Thousand-Year Door to find that last location of the Crystal Star. After figuring out the last Crystal Star is on the moon, where Sir Grodus and Princess Peach are, it's very clear to us that Sir Grodus must have it and we have to find a way to get to the moon. While Professor Frankly figures out what to do, explore the town a little more. Complete any troubles that you wish to complete and such. Go underground to where those blue tunnels were and find the room with the two bigger switches and the big gray block. Use your Ultra Hammer to destroy it and activate those blue pipes, which lead to Keelhaul Key and Poshley Heights. After a while has passed, go check on Professor Frankly. Frankly tells you of a device that can launch you into space, that's conveniently located in Fahr Outpost, inhabited by Bob-ombs. Once you're ready, head to Westside of Rogueport. Once there, slip through the vent to get to the underground. Once there, use Yoshi to get across the gap and break open that gray block with your Ultra Hammer. Take the pipe that's there and let's get started with the next chapter.

Chapter Seven - Mario Shoots the Moon

Once you appear in this frozen tundra, go right towards the town. Defeat the enemies on the way, but make sure you make your way towards the town. Gather up the Star Piece in the bush and the red Question Mark that's on the ground. Once you're in the town, start talking with the local Bob-ombs, including the Mayor. The Mayor will continue to lie about the cannon's existence, until you summon Bobbery. Since he's a Bob-omb, he talks to the Mayor. Now, you have to go talk to Goldbob and General White. Goldbob is located in Poshley Heights. Let's go visit him first. If you opened up the blue pipe that leads to Poshley Heights, let's take it and talk with him. In Poshley Heights, you can find him at the blue house, that's right next to the train. Once you're talking with him, he's gonna ask you for all the coin that you have on you. After giving him all your coins, he gives you the user manual and all your coins back. Now that we have the guide and our coins back, it's time to go find General White. Do you remember me telling you that we will need that Gray/Platinum Bob-omb, named General White, that we saw in Petalburg?? Well, it's time to head back there. Use the blue pipe to get there, quicker. Once we get there, we see that he's no longer there. Talk to the Koopa that's at the entrance, and he'll give you the hint that he went to Keelhaul Key. Now, let's head back to the blue pipe systems and take the one that leads to Keelhaul Key. Once you're there, talk with Pa-Patch and he'll give you the hint that the General went to the arena, which is Glitzville. Now, it's time to head back to Rogueport and take the blimp over there to find him. Once you're at Glitzville, head inside the juice bar and talk with the shopkeeper. He'll hint to you that he's gone to the Great Tree, in Boggly Woods. Once inside, talk with the Puni that's at the entrance. He'll hint to you that he's gone to Twilight Town. Head out the tree and back to Westside of Rogueport. Go back down the vent and this time, use the Twilight pipe. Once there, talk with the Twilighter that's next to the Inn and he'll tell you that he was tired. Don't know where to go from here?? Head back to Fahr Outpost and to where the Mayor is. Go into the house that is to the right of the item shop. You'll find General White sleeping. Since he led you on this crazy and annoying hunt, now you can jump on him to wake him up. Keep jumping on him and he will get up. Now that he's awake and ready, talk with the Mayor and he'll prepare you to go to the moon. Follow the Mayor and watch what happens. Is that cannon big enough to get the job done?? Oh yes, it is. Just you wait. Now, we are finally on the moon. Save your game and let's explore. You will notice that there are a lot of places that Bobbery can explode. In this place, be prepared to be battling quite frequently. After you travel for a while, you will spot a station in the background. Once you find the green pipe that leads to the background, take it and let's go pay a visit to Sir Grodus and the X-Naut gang.

Once you enter, you're greeted by two Elite X-Nauts. Defeat them easily and save your game and reheal yourself. Once you go through the door, keep going right and through another set of doors. Remember the pattern of where to walk and get that chest, which is the elevator key. Go back to the elevator and activate it. Let's go down to Sub-level 1. Go left and through the doors. You will see that it's a crane and it's missing a piece. Go find the piece and the activation code and come back here to get the two badges and the Star Piece. Exit out and continue all the way right. You will notice that we cannot access this place because we don't have a code. Let's go to the elevator and go down to Sub-level 2. Let's go left and through the second door. You see the pattern on the wall?? Make sure you follow it right, or else you'll get shock. After getting that Card Key, go back out and let's go into that other door. This is the potion-making room, where Peach was. Let's go back out and go right. Walk into the first door on the right of the operating elevator. It looks like a teleportation device. Activate it and let's use it. Where do we teleport to?? It seems we re-appear in a house. Open the door and we are in the underground city, that's underneath Rogueport. Since we finally know how they've been getting here, head back inside and activate it again. Let's take it back to the Moon. Once here, you should see a cog piece on top of a shelf. Don't worry, we'll get to that place, soon. Exit out that place and go into the door that's to the right of it. Defeat the X-Naut here and Spring Jump into the ventlation system. Go left and drop through the air vent. Use Koops to get that cog piece. Now, exit out and go back into the ventlation system. This time, go all the way right and drop down the air vent. This time, you'll appear behind a curtain. When you open it, a blast from the past. You become old-school Mario and the old-theme plays. Once you're done having fun, exit out and you'll be your original Paper self again. If you saw those papers on the table and you read them, you will see that in order to activate the crane, you need to press: Left, Right, Middle. And next to that paper, is another paper that has this code: 014029. You will need both of these. If you go back up to Sub-Level 1 and activate the crane, you can now get the Star Piece and two badges. If you on the otherside to the right and enter in the code, you will gain access to that room. Activate the Thwomp Android and we're back in the quiz thing again, just like back in Petal Meadows. Just answer the questions right and get the Elevator Key soo we can access the lower levels. Just before you do, go back to Sub-Level 2 and go all the way right. You will recognize this place as where Grodus was always at. Go into his room and grab that Card Key. We will need it. Now that we have that, let's head to the in-active elevator and activate it. Let's go down to Sub-Level 3 and go left. Once in this room, you have to stay on the blue glowing tiles that move. If you go too far ahead or lag behind, you will get shocked. If you remember from Super Mario World, where we had to follow and stay on those moving blocks in certain Castles. Anyways, follow it to the end and you should get the last card key. Now, let's take the elevator to Sub-Level 4. If you go left, you'll be in the room where Princess Peach was held captive. If you go right, you will find TEC's room. However, you can't enter TEC's room. Soo, let's go back to Sub-Level 3 and go all the way right and through that door. Enter in all three Card Keys and go through the next door. Let's start by defeating that X-Naut. Now, throw Bobbery over and he'll activate that switch. Once activated, use your Paper ability to fit through the bars. Now, use Vivian to hide soo you can get past the barrier. Now, get on the elevated platform. Go up and then left. Take the pipe down and you'll appear in the background. If you want, go get that Ultra Shroom. If not, keep going right and jump onto the moving cogs. Jump on the elevating platform and keep on jumping until you reach the next green pipe. Go south and use the Airplane panel to glide your way all the way left until you reach the Card Key. Get your way back to where that tall pipe, in the background seems to be trapped. Take the second lift down and you'll be able to jump through the bars. Take the green pipe. Go south and get on the moving platform. Jump your way to the blue switch and activate it. This will make a staircase appear for you to get to the door. Go back across and up the stairs. Activate the door and let's head on through. In this room, we run into our old friend, Lord Crump. Now, it's time to face him and his machine again. Upon defeating him for the third and final time, we now have the seventh and final Crystal Star. Save your game and let's check in on Bowser. We find Bowser at Poshley Heights, searching for the Crystal Star. Bowser seems to never catch a break, until his Paragooma informs them that we're heading to the Thousand-Year Door. Now that we're in control again, you will notice that we can't access anything else. Let's head to Sub-Level 4 and go right. TEC's room is now open and we get to finally meet TEC. TEC tells you where Peach is at and now we have to get back to the teleporter room. Get back to Sub-Level 2 and go left. It's the second door. Take it back and let's get to the Thousand-Year Door. Once we hold up the last Crystal Star, the Thousand-Year Door cracks open. Save your game and let's adventure into this Palace of Shadow.

Chapter Eight - The Thousand-Year Door

You find yourself inside this great palace. Keep going to the right. Once through the door, head down stairs and through the door. Keep battling your way down and defeat the Bombshell Bill Blasters. Go through the next door. See that red Question Mark box?? Go get that. Now, to get past this room, you must find the path that no spikes pop out of the ground. Once you do, go through the next door. Now, it's time to jump over the fire. First, save your game. Now, let's star jumping over fire and heading right. To get past the next part, use Vivian to disappear and reappear under the taller ones. Once past it, go through the next door. Once on the otherside, we see a more demonic Dry Bones. Activate it and now, we have to try and catch it in the hordes of Dry Bones. Once you finally catch it, defeat it and get the key from it. Go unlock the door and go through it. In this big room, get the three boxes and head to the next room. As for this room, you're gonna need to pay attention to these next set of rooms. You see the fire lit?? Wherever the fit is lit next to one of the door, you take that door. Take any other door and you're back at the beginning. For instance, your path could be down, down, up, up, down, up, down. It could something different. However, once you pass that room, you will be in front of a place that looks like it was once a great kingdom. Save your game and defeat the Chain-Chomps. Let's keep going right and through the next door. Fight your way through these next set of places. Keep going right for a few rooms and you'll run into another dragon. Just before you reach the dragon, you'll find a Save Block. Save your game and enter in the room. Here, we see another dragon that's very similar to Hooktail, which is Gloomtail. After you defeat Gloomtail, head back outside, where the water is and the giant kingdom is. See those Chain-Chomp statues that have their mouths open?? Throw Bobbery in there and they will explode, revealing a hidden pipe. Do it to both sides and they will take you to the background, where you must activate both switches in order to gain access into the giant kingdom. Use the Boat ability to get across the water and inside the giant kingdom.

Once inside, go up the spiral staircase and place that Star Key into the pedestal. Suddenly, eight keyholes will appear. Head down the stairs to the level below it. Start going into the rooms and try to figure out the puzzles. Once you do, you will get the keys. Inside the room that has all four members of the Bones family, here's the order to defeat them all: Dull Bones, Red Bones, Dry Bones, and Dark Bones. Defeat them in that order and you will see a blue switch. Hit it and the chest will appear with the key. Get the key and head to the room north of this room. Break the gray stone block and exit out this room. We will come back to this one soon. For now, exit out and go directly east of this room to the next room. Use Bobbery to destroy a hole in the wall and open the chest, that contains another key. Now, exit this room and go directly south of this room to the next room. In this room, use Vivian to reveal the blue switch. Hit it and open up the chest, that contains another key. Now, exit this room and head down stairs. Once down stairs, begin going south-west. If you read the board on the wall, it's telling you that you must get the other seven keys before getting this key. Soo, exit out and go directly north of this room to the next room. In here, destroy the gray block and head back out. Go back up stairs and go into the room that is directly above the room we were just in. Break the other gray block that's higher up and leave the room. Now, go back down stairs and back into the room that's directly below that room. Hop up and press that blue switch. Open the chest and gather that key. Before you leave, break that final gray block and head out. Go back up stairs to the room that's directly above it. In here, click the blue switch and open that chest and get that key. Exit that room and head back down stairs. This time, go through the door that's directly north-east. In this room, just keep going right and you'll walk straight throught wall. Hit the blue switch, open up the chest, and get that key. Exit the room and go directly south to the next room. In this room, go up to the board and read it. After reading it, you'll see that you're blocked by something. Use Flurrie's Wind to reveal it. Open the chest and get that key. Now that you have seven keys, exit that room and go directly west. Once you walk in here, hit the furthest red switch three times and the closest switch twice. Open the chest and get that key. Now that you have all eight keys, go back up the stairs and use all eight keys. After unlocking the locks, back where we traveled to go see Gloomtail, another pathway has opened up for us. Head out of the tall castle and across the water. Save your game and head towards Gloomtail. You will be stopped by the Shadow Sirens and Doopliss again. After defeating them for the last time, go reheal and save your game again. After you're done saving, let's continue to Gloomtail's path, and take that new pathway. Once down the new way, get all the way to the right. You should be underneath the door. Use Flurrie's Wind to reveal a hidden path. Once up the ramp, use Yoshi to float across the gap and go through the passage. Click the red switch and hurry up and across. Once across, go down the stairs and through the second passage. Go left and up the stairs and through the door. Go up the stairs and only hit the green one. Go back through the door and float across with Yoshi. Drop down and hit the purple switch. Quickly jump back on and go back up. Fall back down, but stay close to the right wall, as you will land on a higher platform. Use your Rolling ability to get across the gap and to the door. Go through the door. Use your Spring Jump to get on the pole. Keep doing that until you get to another passage. Go up the stairs and stop at the edge. Drop Bobbery down there to activate the red switch and get across. See that pattern on the wall?? Remember that pattern. It indicates which red switches to hit. It could say: Hit, Leave, Hit, Hit, Leave, Hit, Leave. Climb up the stairs and save your game. Keep going right until you reach the ferris wheel. Jump onto the lower one and use Koops to retrieve the key. Now, head back up the stairs and open that locked door and go through. Get the stairs and then, use your Rolling abilty to get up another thing of stairs. See the red switches?? Remember that pattern?? Punch in the right pattern and they all should light up. Head back down all the stairs and through the door. Save your game and keep going right. This time, the ferris wheel should be moving. After crossing the ferris wheel, go down the stairs and through the door. Once here, use Flurrie's Wind to blow away the fake wall and destroy that big gray block. Use your Spin Jump on that wooden block. Drop down and go through the passage. Walk along the narrow path until you get to the door. Go through the door. Use the Airplane panel to get to the first passage. Go through the passage and find the red switch. Hit it and run up the stairs and across the way. Open the chest and get the key. Go back out and jump down. Head all the way left and jump on that spring. This time, utilize the Airplane to get all the way across to the right. You'll find a locked door. Use the key to open it and go through it. Once through it, keep walking until you see the Heart Box and Save Block. Use both. After saving your game, go through the doors. Once up the stairs, you will find Sir Grodus. After talking with him, it's time to finally fight and defeat this dude. After defeating Grodus and seeing Bowser dropping in, we have no choice but to fight him. I know you're fatigued from the last battle, but we must defeat him and Kammy. Afte defeating both Bowser and Kammy, chase after Grodus. After going down all the stairs, save your game and let's get this final battle underway. As Grodus calls upon this Shadow Queen, we see the world being plunged back into darkness. The Shadow Queen engulfs Princess Peach, manipulating it into its own liking. We just witnessed The Shadow Queen single-handedly destroy Grodus to nothing. We find out that the Shadow Sirens are actually working with the Shadow Queen. Not really given a choice, we must battle against the Shadow Queen, in Princess Peach's body. During this battle, the Shadow Queen reveals her true form, in which you cannot penetrate. She recovers full health from your crowd and now you're truly out of options. Suddenly, the Crystal Stars go to the places where you found them and the people there offer you their wishes. Now that you're able to hurt the Shadow Queen, give it all you can and defeat her. After finally defeating the Shadow Queen, Princess Peach is released and the Shadow Sirens are gone.

Since the darkness is finally gone and everything has returned to normal, we see Mario, Peach and Toadsworth finally leaving Rogueport to head back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Once they leave, the sun shines upon Rogueport. Now, we find Mario and Luigi back in their house, just like the game began. Suddenly, you get an e-mail from Goombella and she gives you the update on EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. We even find out that TEC is stil alive, after the explosion. Without any announcement, Princess Peach appears and tells Mario that Toadsworth found a treasure map. And without any discussion, Princess Peach gave Mario another adventure, without his say-so. After the credits roll by and the end pops up, press (A) and we go to save your game. Save your game and now you can go back to Rogueport to finish any and all un-finished adventures you may have. This is where the end of the actual guide is soo, I hope you enjoyed playing just game as much as I have. Safe travels and let's play through another game, sometime. I'll be around.
